Paris Hilton created a stir Tuesday when photos surfaced of the former reality star posing for selfies outside the White House where she reportedly met with policy staff in the West Wing to advocate for laws pertaining to child abuse.

The media personality and socialite wrote on social media about how “honored” she was to be back in Washington, D.C., where she met with “state and national advocates” as part of her ongoing “efforts to improve protections of youth in residential programs and facilities,” a White House official told CNN.

“She met with policy staff where she and other survivors shared their powerful stories and discussed issues pertinent to the protection of institutionalized youth in America,” the official added.

The hotel heiress tweeted to her millions of followers about her White House visit and shared a handful of photos from her day.

“So honored to be back in DC to continue my advocacy work,” Hilton wrote. “I had such an inspiring time meeting with policy staff & walking the halls of the West Wing with advocates. I am so glad to see that the most powerful office in the world is dedicated to fighting for the rights of all.”

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) tweeted a photo of himself and Hilton and wrote that he met with “Paris Hilton to discuss how we can stop abuse of children in residential care facilities.”

Hilton has shown support for the Federal Accountability for Congregate Care Act, according to her website, which “will address systemic weaknesses across multiple agencies and systems that increase reliance on congregate care and subject youth to abuse and neglect.”

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki didn’t address the model’s visit to the White House during her daily press briefing Tuesday, and the White House press office has yet to respond to requests for comment from The Daily Wire about who the former reality star met with and what the result of her visit was.

In October 2021, Hilton was in D.C., where she testified about the alleged “emotional and physical abuse” she experienced as a teen when she attended Utah’s Provo Canyon School, reported Fox News. In 2020, the heiress went public with her story in a documentary titled “This is Paris.”

In September that year, the school told the outlet, “Originally opened in 1971, Provo Canyon School was sold by its previous ownership in August 2000. We therefore cannot comment on the operations or patient experience prior to this time.”
