Paris Hilton revealed that she didn’t change her infant son Phoenix’s diaper for a month after his birth via a surrogate, and social media users blasted her for it.
In a Season 2 episode of “Paris in Love,” the 42-year-old reality star’s sister, Nicky Hilton, asked if Paris had ever changed Phoenix’s diaper, and Paris admitted that she hadn’t, Page Six reported.
Paris then wondered aloud if she needed to “learn,” and her sister replied that she did. Paris cradled her little boy and told him, “I said I wouldn’t do this on my birthday, but I will for you. Anything for Phoenix.”
Hilton placed her son on a changing table and admitted she was “scared” as her sister gave her diapering instructions.

“[In] motherhood, you’ve got to get your hands a little bit dirty,” Nicky said in a confessional on the show.
While some on social media called the scene with the socialite “on brand,” others were upset it took Paris a month to change her son’s diaper.

“I know the wealthy have Nannie’s [sic] and night nurses but to not change your own child as the mom?” one wrote.
Another person slammed the heiress for having “the privilege” to treat her son “like an accessory.”
While a third person wrote, “She will never get this time back. She really needs to slow down & soak up every minute with this angel. It goes by so quick.”
Video of the moment also surfaced on TikTok, with some users calling the “disconnect” appalling.
One person wrote, “I’m sorry… what. I don’t wanna sound like I’m mom-shaming but come onnnn A MONTH?!? Even my husband changed a diaper after a day!!”
A second wrote, “No amount of money would stop me dealing with my own baby.”
However, there were those who came to the TV personality’s defense, and one wrote, “Guys, not everyone is good at being a first-time mom. It takes time. At least she’s trying and now she’s a great mom. Stop shaming her.”
Another added, “It’s probably how Paris was raised, almost totally by nannies. It’s all she knows.”
Paris recently made a surprise announcement on Thanksgiving that she and husband Carter Reum are going to be parents again via surrogacy after first welcoming her son to the world 11 months ago.
In a post on Instagram, she included a photo of a little pink outfit with heart-shaped sunglasses and a bunny. The name embroidered on the outfit read, “London.”
Hilton captioned the post, “Thankful for my baby girl,” along with a pink heart and baby emoji.
