Horrifying scenes unfolded throughout Israel on Saturday as Palestinian Islamic terrorists stormed the country, launching thousands of rockets into the country and gunning down innocent civilians in the streets.
The attacks were carried out by Hamas, a Palestinian Islamic terrorist group that is funded in-part by Iran, during the holiday of Simchat Torah and on Shabbat — the Jewish day of rest that is observed by many in Israel. The terrorist attacks happened on the 50th anniversary of the 1973 war — known as the Yom Kippur War — where Israel’s Arab neighbors launched a surprise attack during Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish Calendar.
Stories and images of families and soldiers being taken hostage emerged on social media while other unconfirmed reports surfaced indicating that ambulances had been attacked. Nearly two dozen Israelis have been confirmed dead so far while at least another 545 were confirmed injured.
“A Hamas terrorist has taken a family hostage and is broadcasting via @facebook live from their house in the southern part of #israel,” wrote Channel 12 News reporter Elad Simchayoff. “He is using a family member’s phone and is broadcasting through her Facebook profile. There are children, a baby, gunshot can be heard outside.”

Israeli journalist India Naftali said in a video posted to social media: “This is the first time a group of terrorists like this have ever infiltrated Israel.”
“And let me tell you, things are worse than they look on the news,” she said. “Because the images that are coming from this situation are too graphic to be shared on the news. And I wish I was exaggerating. Israel has never seen an attack like this, civilians are being butchered in the streets. There are pictures of kidnapped Israelis in Gaza. Please, please pray for Israel because this is horrifying.”

Various security analysts and Israeli military experts said on social media that they have never seen anything like this before and that this attack was unprecedented.
There were also numerous reports indicating that Israel had somehow lost control of several communities along the Israel-Gaza border to Hamas.

Others noted that the Palestinians were bragging about and celebrating their acts of terrorism in content posted to social media.

Images and video circulating on social media that were reported on by various newswires, major newspapers, and local publications showed horrifying scenes as rockets smashed into the side of residential buildings, cars and at least one military tank were on fire, numerous bodies lay on the ground in pools of blood, the bodies of Israeli soldiers were desecrated by Palestinians, and Islamic terrorist roamed the streets hunting for Israeli citizens.

The terrorists stole an Israeli bulldozer and used it to smash the fence separating Israel from Gaza. They also stole various military vehicles and weapons.
