Palestinian Feminist Says Hamas Is Not A Terrorist Organization, And Anchor Is ‘Not Having It’

The leader of a Palestinian feminist organization claimed repeatedly that Hamas was not a terrorist organization — and got immediate pushback from one of the anchors interviewing her, who told her he was “not having it.”

Wafa Abdel Rahman joined TalkTV to discuss the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, and she argued that Hamas should not give up the Israeli hostages — some of whom are supposed to be released as part of a deal for a temporary ceasefire as early as Friday. She suggested that Israel was at fault for the war and said that the hostages should only be given up if they were negotiated for an end to the “aggression.”

Claiming that Hamas did not want to keep Israeli hostages, Rahman said, “It should be done in a fair deal, meaning ending the aggression on Gaza, ending the war on Gaza, at the same time releasing the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli jail.”

“Can I jump in? And I really appreciate you being here … I think we all want the hostages released, I just have a question for you,” the male anchor said. “You said ‘exchange of prisoners,’ you talked about the ‘aggression on Gaza.’ This was started by Hamas launching a terrorist activity against the Israeli people.”

He went on to say that he would like to see any hostages released, adding, “But I doubt that Israel’s going to negotiate with terrorists, are they?”

“They’re not terrorists,” Rahman replied.

“What, Hamas aren’t terrorists?” the anchor asked in apparent disbelief.

“They’re not terrorists,” she insisted. “They’re not terrorists …”

Hamas aren’t terrorists?” he asked again.

“They’re not terrorists,” she kept repeating. “Nelson Mandela …”

“No, no, sorry,” he said. “I can’t have that at all. I can’t have that … 1400 people were literally subjected to genocide, babies were beheaded and burnt …”

“Check your numbers please,” Rahman argued, claiming that Israel had misrepresented the number killed during Hamas’ brutal massacre on October 7.

The female anchor said that 1200 had been confirmed dead, to which the male replied, “It doesn’t matter whether it’s 12, those are terrorist genocidal behaviors, madam, won’t have it.”

The segment went on for two more minutes, during which Rahman continued to defend Hamas.

The anchor concluded that he “had hoped” to see a difference between Palestinians and Hamas — but that the interview only left him wondering whether a temporary ceasefire and release of prisoners would only result in Hamas attacking Israel again.
