Oscar Nominees Announced: ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ Leads With 11

The 2023 Oscar nominations have been released with the film “Everything Everywhere All at Once” leading its competitors. The 2023 Oscars will be held Sunday, March 12, with Jimmy Kimmel as the host.

“Everything Everywhere All at Once” led the way with 11 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress, (Michelle Yeoh.)

“The Banshees of Inisherin” grabbed nine nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor (Colin Farrell). “All Quiet on the Western Front” also gained nine nominations, including Best Picture. The biopic “Elvis” got eight nominations, including Best Picture and Best Actor (Austin Butler).

Steven Spielberg’s autobiographical “The Fabelmans” garnered seven nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress (Michelle Williams). The mega-blockbuster hit “Top Gun: Maverick” received six nominations, including Best Picture. “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” received five nominations. “Tár” starring Cate Blanchett, got five nominations, including Best Picture and Best Actress.

The audience for the Oscar show has been steadily dwindling for 20 years; in 2000, over 46 million people watched the event. The number plunged to 10.4 million in 2021, more than a 50% drop from the year before, then crept back up to 15.4 million people last year.
