O’Reilly: Obama’s ‘Emotional Attachment’ To Muslim World Has Endangered The U.S.

On his political talk show Wednesday night, Fox News host Bill O’Reilly said President Obama’s “emotional attachment” to the Muslim world has endangered the U.S. and the world.

“There is no question the Obama administration’s greatest failure is allowing the Islamic terror group ISIS to run wild, murdering thousands of innocent people all over the world, including many Muslims,” said O’Reilly.

Part of the reason for that failure, said O’Reilly, is Obama’s personal attachment to Islam and the Muslim world, which has prevented him from acknowledging the role Islam has played in the rise of radical Islam and, thus, from effectively responding to the threat it poses to the West.

“Again today when telling the nation that America will maintain 8,000 troops in Afghanistan, the president did not accurately describe the situation there, putting forth that it was more about politics than Islamic terror,” said O’Reilly.

”Mr. Obama has never, never acknowledged that mistake, nor does he define the ISIS threat accurately,” he said. “That group is killing innocent people in order to impose a radical version of Islam on the world. The jihad is solely based on theology, perverted as it may be.”

“President Obama’s sympathetic treatment of Muslims put the country in danger because he has not elevated the risks that we have to the level it should be,” said O’Reilly later. “And he allowed ISIS to be created because of his foolish decision to withdraw troops in Iraq and to pretty much run wild for five years. So another president, angry about the jihad, would not have done that.”

O’Reilly highlighted Obama’s strongly Muslim upbringing in Indonesia, showing images of Obama in traditional Muslim garb in a photos, some of which were apparently taken at his Muslim half-brother Malik Obama’s wedding. Despite emphasizing Obama’s partly Muslim heritage, O’Reilly underscored that he does not believe Obama is a Muslim.

“I believe he’s a Christian,” said O’Reilly. “I’m not one of these guys who says he’s a Muslim. But I don’t think he’s a devout Christian.”

Citing his own willingness to call out the Catholic Church despite being Catholic when news of the pedophilia scandal first broke, O’Reilly said Obama needs to “do what I do”: “aggressively call out” those abusing the religion, namely those who have embraced “radical Islam,” an ideology he refuses to acknowledge.

“Barack Obama should do what I do: aggressively call out those who abuse the Muslim faith, who commit atrocities under a religious banner,” he said. “He should make defeating jihad a central issue and stop trying to diminish Islamic terrorism.”

Later in the show, O’Reilly gave a sharp response to guest Obama: From Promise to Power author David Mendell’s defense of Obama as “very sympathetic to all cultures, all religions,” saying that was not his job as commander in chief.

“He’s the commander in chief of the United States, and his main charge is to protect us. It’s not main charge as to be touchy-feely to all different cultures,” he said to close the segment.
