<p>There are a lot of great things about Tennessee.</p>
<p>The food. The music. The Daily Wire.</p>
<p>And as of this month, you can add something else to that list: the fact that it’s now illegal for landlords to rent to illegal immigrants.</p>
<p>On July 1, Senate Bill 392 took effect, <a href="https://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/Default.aspx?BillNumber=SB0392" target="_blank" rel="noopener">making it illegal</a> “for a person to harbor or hide, or to assist another in harboring or hiding, within this state an individual who the person knows or should have known has illegally entered or remained in the United States.”</p>
<p>Critics say that means landlords <a href="https://newschannel9.com/news/local/new-tennessee-law-would-criminalize-aiding-undocumented-immigrants-sparking-legal-concern" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won’t be able to rent</a> to illegals, to which we say: uh, great.</p>
<p>The Daily Wire has exposed several companies that profit by advertising property or mortgages specifically to illegal immigrants. And, as the shocking saga of Colony Ridge shows, this approach often leads to rampant crime.</p>
<p>This is the latest win for Tennessee. Senate Bill 392 took effect alongside <a href="https://www.newschannel5.com/news/177-new-tennessee-laws-go-into-effect-july-1st-here-are-the-ones-that-caught-our-eye" target="_blank" rel="noopener">176 other bills</a>, including legislation banning cell phones in classrooms, prohibiting the sale of abortion pills by mail, and guaranteeing more recess for elementary school students.</p>
<p>You’re welcome, kids.</p>
<p>And of course, last month, the Supreme Court <a href="https://newschannel9.com/news/local/new-tennessee-law-would-criminalize-aiding-undocumented-immigrants-sparking-legal-concern" target="_blank" rel="noopener">upheld</a> the state’s ban on transgender surgeries and treatments for minors — a landmark case that could pave the way for other states to ban these irreversibly harmful “treatments.”</p>
<p>Again, you’re welcome, kids.</p>
<p>If you’re not currently in the Volunteer State, you may be wishing that you were — or that your state was more like ours. We hope that for you, too. But we can’t make it happen overnight.</p>
