Shapiro joined the “Breakfast Club” to talk about a range of issues, but one topic gained a lot of attention: abortion. The Daily Wire editor emeritus defended an unborn baby’s right to life against pro-abortion arguments from co-hosts, Jess Hilarious and DJ Envy. 
“I don’t think that the subjective definition of life is how we define life,” Shapiro said. “We all agree, for example, that a one-month-old baby should not be drowned. Right, we all agree on that. And that’s not up to the personal … and the question is, well, why? Because we now understand that the one-month-old baby, everyone agrees with this, right, that — except for Peter Singer at Princeton — that a one-month-old baby has an independent interest in life.”

“The argument I don’t like is that it’s up to every single person to define when life begins,” he added.
Charlamagne then weighed in then, saying he would argue that life began when there was a heartbeat.
“If life begins at the heartbeat … you’re talking about abortion restrictions very early on,” Shapiro said.

Shapiro also shot down the argument that rape and incest are a reason to keep abortion legal. 
“People choose that argument because it&#8217;s the hardest one to make emotionally from the pro-life side … but the vast majority of abortions have nothing to do with rape or incest,” he said.

Shapiro ripped NYC socialist mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani’s record and his rapping ability during his appearance on “The Breakfast Club.”

<h3>Social Security Smackdown</h3>
During a debate on Social Security on CNN, Shapiro explained to the panelists how the entitlement program works and how it’s on a path to bankruptcy. 
First, Shapiro shot down the idea pushed by Phillip that Social Security is just a system in which Americans “pay into” to receive that money back at retirement.
“Well no,” Shapiro shot back, adding, “I promise you the amount that people are taking out is not the amount that is going in, which is why we are going bankrupt.”

Later in the panel discussion, Ana Kasparian, host of the leftist show, “The Young Turks,” argued that spending on defense and foreign aid was a bigger problem pushing the country toward bankruptcy than Social Security. 
“You don’t think the trillions of dollars we’ve spent on wars in the Middle East might have something to do with that?” she asked. 
“That is not even remotely a percentage of what we spend on Social Security,” Shapiro replied. And, of course, he was correct. In 2024, Social Security accounted for 21% of the federal budget, totaling $1.5 trillion. Defense spending, meanwhile, made up 13% of the budget, or $872 billion.

Cracker Barrel heard its customers, acknowledged its mistake, and fixed it — a refreshing example of how the customer should always remain king. In a distant time not too long ago, the NFL stood proudly as a place to witness exciting touchdowns, roaring stadiums, and halftime entertainment that was more cheer than cringe. But these days, the NFL is a shell of its former self. You’re more likely to see Taylor Swift on the jumbotron, and yes, male cheerleaders prancing around the field.  
The <a href="https://x.com/ThePatriotOasis/status/1955289676404727941">Minnesota Vikings</a> and other NFL <a href="https://sports.yahoo.com/article/12-nfl-teams-adding-male-212045510.html">teams</a> were in the news this week after video clips of their current cheer squad started making the rounds online. The typical bevy of perky, peppy women outfitted in skimpy outfits and effusive smiles included men with wavy hair and sassy moves standing front and center.
Another team that picked at least one male cheerleader for its squad was the <a href="https://x.com/WallStreetMav/status/1956156347193680139">New England Patriots</a>, who play at Gillette Stadium. You know, that stadium that’s sponsored by the razor company that has pushed a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/eyeroll-now-gillette-razors-are-talking-about-ashe-schow">campaign</a> speaking out against “toxic masculinity” and once ran a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AR-JkiNQ_Ro">commercial</a> about a dad helping his daughter, who identifies as a boy, shave for the first time. So maybe it’s not surprising that a dude could be prancing around with the female cheerleaders this season at Gillette Stadium. 
It may not be the first year NFL cheer squads added men to their roster. For example, the Carolina Panthers have had an &#8220;<a href="https://www.nfl.com/news/first-openly-transgender-nfl-cheerleader-justine-lindsay-a-face-of-the-possible">openly transgender</a>&#8220; member of their squad since 2022. But now that so many other DEI policies are being abandoned, it does seem like a giant step backwards. 
Over here in normal town, we reserve sideline pom-pom routines for women, not men posing as women or men acting like women. 
According to several fans <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxztOLNyLfI">threatening</a> to dump the Vikings, their team has crossed a line with this latest choice. Male cheerleaders in the NFL? That’s a brand knowingly alienating its fan base. It proves there’s still a giant disconnect between what the fans want and what they’re getting.
So many men have given up on the NFL long ago when the first echoes of wokeness started echoing through the locker rooms across the nation. Acting quickly, “Big Balls” pushed his girlfriend into the vehicle to protect her from the gang and faced the attackers alone.

Ulta Beauty, one of the world’s <a href="https://companiesmarketcap.com/cosmetics/largest-companies-by-market-cap/">biggest</a> cosmetics brands, was slammed on social media after it collaborated with “<a href="https://www.out.com/lifestyle/2019/6/10/queer-eyes-jonathan-van-ness-im-nonbinary">non-binary</a>” hairstylist Jonathan Van Ness, a bearded man who dresses up as a woman. 
In a <a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/DMVQasmO14W/?igsh=bXQ0Mm1xaTgyMGlp">video</a> posted on Instagram, Van Ness — who goes by he/him, she/her, and they/them pronouns — advertises for his hair product brand, which he says is now available at Ulta Beauty. In the video, Van Ness prances around an Ulta store, greeting the workers, who appear to be less-than-thrilled. 
“We’re going to be at Ulta for the first time! It’s going to be Ulta fun!” Van Ness says.

The Left Keeps Trying To Ruin Christmas. So We’re Celebrating It Even More.

Earlier this month, CNBC published a <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2025/07/14/americas-worst-places-quality-of-life-top-states-for-business.html">report</a> detailing which states represent “America’s worst for quality of life in 2025.” What they gave was a list of the places terrified liberals are fleeing as cities collapse under the weight of disastrous liberal policies.
The “worst” ones are called out for issues such as “inclusiveness of state laws” and “reproductive rights.” Reliably red states including Oklahoma, Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana, Utah, and Texas all make the list, but then comes the doozy: the worst of the worst, per CNBC, is the <a href="https://store.dailywire.com/products/make-america-tennessee-hat?_pos=1&amp;_sid=2117ef68f&amp;_ss=r">good old Volunteer State.</a>
The news outlet gives Tennessee 61 out of a possible 265 points for its “quality of life” score, noting issues such as “crime rate,” “inclusiveness,” and “worker protections.”
CNBC also notes that The Volunteer State has “been at the forefront of legislation limiting the rights of its LGBTQ+ population, beginning as far back as 2015. The state was among the earliest to codify a person&#8217;s gender based on their anatomy, passing its law in 2023.”
So, it’s a state where men are men, women are women, and everyone loves country music? Sure. Sounds like a leftist’s nightmare. That’s why we love it. 
There were several reasons Daily Wire co-founder Ben Shapiro gave for moving the company from Los Angeles to Nashville five years ago, and all of them had to do with common sense. “Terrible governance has consequences,” Shapiro <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tennessee-lawmakers-pass-resolution-congratulating-daily-wires-ben-shapiro-for-moving-his-company-to-the-state">said</a> of California’s leadership. 
Specific issues such as “high housing costs, rampant homelessness, the extraordinary state and local tax burden, the city’s refusal to maintain law and order, and the deliberate degradation of the quality of life for citizens,” were all reasons for abandoning California, per a TN state <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tennessee-lawmakers-pass-resolution-congratulating-daily-wires-ben-shapiro-for-moving-his-company-to-the-state">resolution</a> congratulating him for the move.
There’s never been a better time to hit back against the mainstream narrative and assert that Tennessee isn’t just one of the greatest states of the union – it’s actually the standard all other states should be measured against. 
You don’t have to live in Tennessee to appreciate what politicians and activists, including The Daily Wire’s very own Matt Walsh, have been able to accomplish when it comes to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tn-senate-leader-credits-daily-wire-investigation-for-inspiring-ban-on-gender-procedures-for-minors">protecting minors</a> from the horrors of gender procedures. 
Just last month, in a decision that will now set precedent throughout the entire country, the Supreme Court <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/scotus-says-tennessee-can-protect-kids-from-trans-procedures-other-states-should-follow-our-lead">upheld</a> Tennessee’s right to protect our children from irreversible and unproven medical procedures under the guise of “gender-affirming care.” 
It was not just a victory for Tennessee, but for every state in the union. That decision paved the way for other states to follow suit and once again return to a nation of common sense.

For a brief period of time after Donald Trump’s 2024 election victory, there was talk of the Democratic Party finally learning from the clear lesson taught by the American people. But in the eight months since the election, Democrats have shown that they didn’t learn anything, and they’re just as annoying and woke as ever. 
From their attacks on Trump’s immigration agenda and ICE agents to their defense of socialism and massive government spending, liberals are doubling down on all of the things that sent them to the woodshed on November 5, 2024. 
<h3>Crying over Deportations</h3>
Throughout the entire 2024 campaign, Trump was clear on his goal to conduct the largest deportation operation in American history, and a majority of voters approved of the plan, giving Trump the mandate to get cracking on booting illegal immigrants from the country. Instead of adjusting their position on deportations to fit with the will of the people, Democrats just cried about the issue even louder. 
Leftists’ temper tantrums over deportations have also turned into referring to ICE agents as “<a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/progressive-dem-rep-faces-backlash-calling-ice-nazi-thugs-defending-ms-13-gang-member">Nazi thugs</a>” and a <a href="https://www.ice.gov/news/releases/statement-ice-acting-director-todd-m-lyons-minnesota-gov-tim-walzs-anti-ice-comments">“modern-day Gestapo</a>.” 
Democrats’ rhetoric on the issue has been blasted by the Trump administration, which has pointed to an <a href="https://www.dhs.gov/news/2025/07/15/dhs-announces-ice-law-enforcement-are-now-facing-830-percent-increase-assaults">800% increase</a> in violence toward immigration agents, including armed assaults on Border Patrol and ICE officers. 
Leftist protesters and rioters opposing the ICE operations have also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-vows-to-liberate-los-angeles-shut-down-migrant-riots-and-insurrectionist-mobs">clashed</a> with police officers and agents and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/idiots-massive-drug-bust-impeded-by-anti-ice-protesters-sheriff-says">impeded</a> law enforcement duties. Talk about annoying … and dangerous! One Arizona sheriff summed it up perfectly: “They don’t have individual thought, they have group think.”
<h3>Defending Massive Government Spending on Wokeness</h3>
Another main goal for the Trump administration has been to strip out unnecessary government spending and dismantle wasteful government agencies and programs. Of course, this too riled up the Democrats, who couldn’t bear the thought of people in Iraq going without their own <a href="https://x.com/DOGE/status/1871397453720695148">Sesame Street</a> and people in Africa going without <a href="https://africa.businessinsider.com/local/lifestyle/us-aid-cuts-leave-dollar11-million-in-birth-control-supplies-for-sub-saharan-africa/jqe9l80#google_vignette">birth control</a> (yes, those were real things your government was spending money on). 
Most recently, Democrats are upset that the Left-leaning National Public Radio’s government funding is also getting axed. Yeah, the same NPR that <a href="https://cloud.house.gov/posts/npr-chief-admits-dismissing-hunter-biden-laptop-story-was-a-mistake">said</a> it wasn’t going to cover the Hunter Biden laptop story in 2020 because it didn’t “want to waste our time on stories that are not really stories, and we don’t want to waste the listeners’ and readers’ time on stories that are just pure distractions.” 
And it gets worse. In 2024, NPR ran a Valentine’s Day segment on “<a href="https://www.npr.org/2024/02/14/1198909355/valentines-day-relationships-gay-animals-nature">queer animals</a>.” Two years prior, it <a href="https://www.wbur.org/endlessthread/2022/01/14/fight-for-dinosaur-emoji">discussed</a> the  “whole community of genderqueer dinosaur enthusiasts” and “trans-ceratops.” Yep, those are your tax dollars hard at work over at NPR. 
Did Democrats admit that maybe NPR went a little overboard on the leftism? Nope! Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-WI) <a href="https://x.com/SenDuckworth/status/1945637648086761889">claimed</a> that NPR is vital for public safety, saying that it’s important for “emergency alerts, disaster updates, the weather and other reliable news.” Sure, Tammy. Because everyone you know only ever listens to NPR for breaking news. 
<h3>Pushing Socialism</h3>
Leftists already have their attention on the next round of elections in 2025 and 2026. Common sense would suggest that this time around, they’ll push more moderate candidates … but Democrats aren’t big fans of common sense. Instead, they’re pushing a <a href="https://thenationaldesk.com/top-videos/zohran-mamdani-divides-democrats-with-socialist-platform-house-leader-chuck-schumer-endorse-president-donald-trump-eric-adams-hakeem-jeffries">radical socialist</a> (possibly full-blown <a href="https://x.com/JonathanTurley/status/1940556297021411558">Marxist</a>?) candidate in this year’s New York City mayoral race, while <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2024/08/23/aoc-mainstream-democrat-dnc-00175955">socialists</a> Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/no-apologies-bernie-sanders-221k-spent-private-jets-fighting-oligarchy-tour">traveled</a> the country on a “Fight the Oligarchy” tour, seeking to stir up the leftist base for the Democratic Party. 
“Assemblymember [Zohran] Mamdani has demonstrated a real ability on the ground to put together a coalition of working-class New Yorkers that is strongest to lead the pack,” AOC <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/05/nyregion/aoc-endorse-mamdani-mayor.html">said</a> in her endorsement, which helped lead Mamdani to a Democratic primary victory last month. 
Even after the Red Wave that pushed Trump and Republicans over the top in 2024, Democrats keep whining about conservative policies and running to the Left. And then they wonder why Americans reject their craziness.

Daily Wire host Michael Knowles also rolled up to the much-anticipated Fight Night in Nashville. Two knockouts kicked off the Fight Night. Quite literally. In the women’s strawweight division, Fatima Kline caught Melissa Martinez with a nasty headkick KO. Kline was awarded a “Performance of the Night” bonus for her victory.

Later in the night, Steve Garcia beat Calvin Kattar by unanimous decision, and Gabriel Bonfim defeated Stephen Thompson by split decision, leading to the main event between Derrick “The Black Beast” Lewis and undefeated Tallison “Xicao” Teixeira. 
It took just 35 seconds into the fight for Lewis to land a nasty left hook that dropped Teixeira. Lewis pounced with a thunderous ground and pound before a merciful ref stoppage.
