It should have been obvious that there was no limit to what sort of nonsense MSNBC’s Joy Reid could spout after she was able to keep her job while claiming that unknown hackers posted homophobic slurs on an old blog post of hers, but every so often, it’s worth reviewing what she’s telling her audience.
Thursday evening, Reid claimed that the GOP taught the United States what the word “inflation” means, implying that the only reason Americans are concerned with the rising cost of goods is due to conservative propaganda.
“The only people I ever heard use the word inflation are journalists and economists,” she said with a chuckle. “So, that is not part of the normal lexicon of the way people talk. So, it’s interesting that Republicans are doing something they don’t normally do — which is not use the common tongue, not use common English …”
Under President Joe Biden, America has experienced the worst inflation in decades. Basically, everything is expensive and it’s a big reason why Democrats are heading for a shellacking on Tuesday.
For some reason, Reid thinks the country wouldn’t know how to describe this economic misery if not for anti-Democrat efforts.
“What they’ve done is taught people the word inflation, right?” she continued. “Most people who would have never used that word in their lives are now using it now because they’ve been taught it. Including on TV, including in newspapers — they’ve been taught this word.”

There are a couple of explanations for Reid’s bizarre claim.
The first is that Reid has been surrounded by dopes her entire life. It is unclear what sort of people Reid pals around with, but suffice it to say, they are really dumb people if they have never used the term “inflation” in casual conversation. Anybody with half of a brain knows what it is, even if they have never experienced disastrous price hikes like we are now.
The second option is that Reid, a Harvard graduate, is isolated from the common American and assumes we are all a bunch of morons. In her leftist bubble, perhaps Reid has conjured up a caricature that anybody who doesn’t have a subscription to The New Yorker, or whatever, is just a dumbo.
Neither option is mutually exclusive.
Of course, the 53-year-old has often exposed herself as ignorant beyond her years.
For example, in 2017, she claimed, “‘Classical liberal’ is an accurate term for a person who supports New Deal economics and social modernity, but does not identify as socialist.”
The definition of “classical liberal” is practically the opposite of that and refers to one who supports free market economics with an emphasis on laissez-faire economics, alongside individual responsibility and adherence to rule of law guided by liberty and freedom. Even Wikipedia still uses that definition.
A reader might be wondering why any of this matters. Well, Reid — believe it or not — speaks to at least one million per night.
