Newly elected Democrat Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib has a sticky note with the word “Palestine” placed over the state of Israel on a map of the Middle East hung in her D.C. congressional office.
“Someone has already made a slight alteration to the map that hangs in Rashida Tlaib’s new congressional office,” noted BuzzFeed News reporter Hannah Allam via Twitter.
As founding editor of Lehrhaus Ari Lamm notes, “That arrow is pointing at Alexandria, which an enormous, vibrant Jewish community called home until it was massacred during the reign of the Roman emperor Trajan, whose project at the time, according to the historian Appian, was ‘exterminating the Jewish race in Egypt.'”
Speaking to the Jewish Journal, Rabbi Abraham Cooper of Simon Wiesenthal Center said there is currently no country called “Palestine” and won’t be until Palestinian leaders recognize Israel’s right to exist.
“The territory upon which the word ‘Palestine’ is affixed on this map is called the Palestinian territories,” said Cooper. “Palestinian statehood will be achieved, if and when, the Palestinian leaders are prepared to recognize the validity of the Jewish State as their neighbor.”
Keeping in-step with the “Palestine” sticky note, Tlaib had Women’s March leader and Shariah law supporter Linda Sarsour in attendance at her swearing-in ceremony Thursday. Sarsour has a history of verbally attacking female Muslim reformers and expressing anti-Semitic views.
Tlaib made other political waves on Thursday, too. As reported by The Daily Wire, the new Michigan rep. told a group of hyped supporters, “We’re gonna go in there and we’re gonna impeach the motherf***er.”
The “motherf***er” she’s referencing is President Donald Trump, the man the Left ridicules for being uncouth.
Amazingly enough, in full context, Tlaib was recalling a conversation she had with her son. “People love you and you win,” she said. “And when your son looks at you and says, ‘Momma, look you won. Bullies don’t win.’ And I said, ‘Baby, they don’t, because we’re gonna go in there and we’re gonna impeach the mother***er.'”
When confronted about her her crass call for Trump’s impeachment by reporters in D.C., Tlaib literally ran away from them.
