Law enforcement seized a former Marine’s firearms in August after a series of threats were made against Antifa activists. However, reports of the incident largely misrepresent what triggered the risk protection order.
Shane Kohfield, a 32-year-old former Marine and right-wing activist, surrendered five firearms after the FBI executed Oregon’s new “red flag” law. The order was executed days after Kohfield brought weapons to Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler’s home while participating in a protest.
