<p>Prisha Mosley and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sorens-story-a-detransitioners-harrowing-journey-back-from-gender-madness" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Soren Aldaco</a>, two young women who were medically transitioned as teenagers and have since detransitioned, are suing their doctors, alleging that the defendants&#8217; medical interventions caused irreversible damage to their bodies.</p>
<p>North Carolina woman Prisha Mosley, who was just 16 years old when she was first put on a path to medically transition to male, <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12310887/Young-North-Carolina-woman-sues-doctors-testosterone-age-17-saying-needed-therapy-not-double-mastectomy-latest-blockbuster-detransition-lawsuit.html?ico=related-replace" target="_blank" rel="noopener">says</a> in a lawsuit that healthcare professionals lied to her, both by telling her she could become a boy and &#8220;grow a penis,&#8221; and by withholding critical information about permanent damage from such treatments.</p>
<p>Mosley, now 25, was given testosterone injections and underwent a double mastectomy as part of her transition when she was a teenager. She now has a deep voice, facial hair, a damaged vagina and chest, and doesn&#8217;t know if she&#8217;ll ever be able to have children.</p>
<p>Mosley&#8217;s doctors &#8220;lied to and misled her into these treatments and procedures for the purpose of making money off of her and bolstering their credentials in the emerging field of so-called gender-affirming care,&#8221; the lawsuit claims, naming her plastic surgeon Eric Emerson, counselor Brie Klein-Fowler, Shana Gordon, and Dr. Martha Perry as defendants.</p>
<p class="mol-para-with-font">&#8220;They lied when they told Mosley she was actually a boy; they lied when they told her that injecting testosterone into her body would solve her numerous, profound mental and psychological health problems,&#8221; the complaint continues. &#8220;They lied by omission, withholding critical information from her about the long-term adverse health consequences and permanent damage these treatments would cause her, and failing to inform her of alternative courses of treatment for her psychological problems.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;No one has the right to sterilize a child or someone in mental distress,&#8221; Mosley <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/gender-transition-16-lied-terrible-way-seeking-justice" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> this month on Fox News, discussing transgender &#8220;sanctuary state&#8221; designations. The 25-year-old added that offering transgender &#8220;care&#8221; to minors is &#8220;harmful,&#8221; and likened the uptick in trans-identifying youth as a &#8220;social contagion.&#8221;</p>
<p>Mosley&#8217;s lawsuit was <a href="https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/254859/north-carolina-woman-files-lawsuit-in-wake-of-gender-transition-surgery-as-a-teen" target="_blank" rel="noopener">filed</a> on July 17 in Gaston County Superior Court, and is the first lawsuit of its kind in North Carolina.</p>
<p>The young woman is seeking financial damages for charges relating to fraud, civil conspiracy, medical malpractice, negligent infliction of emotional distress, and unfair and deceptive trade practices, <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12310887/Young-North-Carolina-woman-sues-doctors-testosterone-age-17-saying-needed-therapy-not-double-mastectomy-latest-blockbuster-detransition-lawsuit.html?ico=related-replace" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to The Daily Mail.</p>
<p>&#8220;As the next step in my journey, I have decided to seek justice from the legal system, hold my health care providers accountable, and hopefully serve as a warning to other doctors and therapists not to do this to anyone else,&#8221; Mosley <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/gender-transition-16-lied-terrible-way-seeking-justice" target="_blank" rel="noopener">penned</a> in an op-ed at Fox News.</p>
<p>Soren Aldaco, now 21 years old, says in her suit that medical professionals performed “experimental ‘gender affirming’ medical therapies” when she was a teenager struggling with mental health issues, <a href="https://www.dailysignal.com/2023/07/24/nipples-literally-peeling-texas-detransitioner-sues-doctors-1-million-botched-surgery/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> Mary Margaret Olohan at The Daily Signal.</p>
<p>The suit, filed on Friday in the Tarrant County District Court of Texas, says Aldaco will be seeking more than $1 million in damages. &#8220;The precise amount of damages has not yet been determined, but we will be seeking much more than $1 million,&#8221; Aldaco&#8217;s lawyer, Ron Miller, told The Daily Wire via email on Wednesday.</p>
<p>Aldaco began identifying as transgender at age 11 and was started on hormone replacement therapy at age 17, Kelsey Bolar, a senior policy analyst at Independent Women’s Forum, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/author/kelsey-bolar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">outlined</a> at The Daily Wire. At 19, Aldaco underwent surgery to remove her healthy breasts and just two weeks later ended up alone in an emergency room for 8 hours as doctors reopened her wounds from the double mastectomy.</p>
<p>“At the time, I thought I was going to die,” Soren told Independent Women’s Forum. “I just remember being on zero pain meds at the time.”</p>
<p>&#8220;Her traumatic medical complications opened her eyes to the ills of so-called &#8216;gender-affirming care,&#8217; which she said enabled her to believe hormones and surgery could provide her with the sense of self she craved growing up,&#8221; Bolar said of Aldaco. &#8220;Detransitioned and now working to heal from her ordeal through mindfulness, Soren has become a vocal critic of the &#8216;enabling&#8217; she sees happening within the gender medical industry.&#8221;</p>

<p>Aldaco names Del Scott Perry, Sreenath Nekkalapu, Barbara Rose Wood, Richard Santucci, Ashley DeLeon, Crane Clinic LLC, Texas Health Physicians Group, Three Oaks Counseling Group LLC, and Mesa Springs LLC as defendants in the suit, The Daily Signal report notes.</p>
<p>The suit states that the defendants breached their fiduciary duties and their medical interventions led to Aldaco&#8217;s &#8220;permanent disfigurement and profound psychological scarring.&#8221;</p>
