Whoopi Goldberg blasted “The View” audience after it booed Republican New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu during his appearance on the show, saying we need to give people the opportunity to speak.
During the ABC talk show on Thursday, Goldberg and her cohosts were speaking to Sununu and asking him to defend his stance on guns, Fox News reported.
Joy Behar asked the governor what his plan was to deal with gun violence, specifically why the Republican was against a ban on the AR-15.
“If it was that easy, the democrats would’ve done it,” Sununu replied. “They didn’t do it because they know that’s not the change. No, I’m not banning any guns. I’m going to provide access to mental health, we’re going to get at the core of the issue, which is what spurs a lot of the violence.”

As he was answering Behar, the audience started booing loudly.
“Stop!” Goldberg told the audience as she shook her finger at them. “Uh-uh, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah ah, no, no, no, no, no, no. No, no booing.” And the booing immediately stopped.
Behar appeared to agree and said to the audience, “No Republican will ever come back here if you’re going to boo.”

“We need to talk to people to find out what they’re thinking and are they thinking in the right way,” Goldberg added. “He’s [Sununu’s] not going to be perfect. None of them are.”
“But at least give people the opportunity to say what’s going on,” Goldberg continued before thanking the governor for coming on the show. “Thank you for being with us today.”
Goldberg previously slammed her audience during Kellyanne Conway’s appearance on “The View” in 2022. Conway was a senior advisor to President Donald Trump.
“Let me —let me do something before you say anything else,” the host said, turning her comments to the audience. “Listen, this is ‘The View,’ and this is her view, and she’s talking about how she feels and what she knows.”
“Please don’t boo her,” she added at the time.
