Nick Cannon said his friend Jamie Foxx will address fans’ concerns about his mysterious health scare when “he’s ready” after the actor was hospitalized on April 12 for “medical complications.”
The 42-year-old rapper/TV host told Billy Bush he didn’t want to speak out about Foxx’s health before the family did, Extra reported in a Thursday article.
“One thing I’ve always respected about how Jamie’s moved throughout his entire career, if you’ve noticed, he’s always been somebody who is extremely professional and extremely private,” Cannon said.

“I mean, you don’t ever really hear anything other than just the great work that he puts forth as a professional and the fact that, you know, he’s handled this situation with the same manner, you only can respect that,” he added. “I believe when he’s ready, he’s going to address the awaiting fans in the world [about his health scare] the way that only he can.”
“I’m probably in the same boat as you in that same sense of just knowing that, you know, as a friend, just being as respectful as I can, I don’t pry,” Cannon continued. “I don’t ask any other questions. And other than the information that’s given to me and, you know, what’s asked of me.”
Cannon also said “the information [Foxx’s family has put out is what] they want to be out there.”

“I was definitely one of those people initially with like the heavy-handed prayers… sending positive energy, love, and prayers,” the TV personality said. “And they were like, ‘Yo, we appreciate all of that, but we got it.’ And, you know, Jamie’s happy with the job that I did on ‘Beat Shazam.'”
Foxx finally broke his silence three weeks after his family confirmed he had been hospitalized for what they called “medical complications.” In the 55-year-old actor’s post on Instagram, he didn’t address his current condition or the cause of his hospital stay.
However, he did share a message of praise to all who have been praying for him.
“Appreciate all the love!!!” Foxx’s post read. “Feeling blessed.” He has not made any other posts on his social media since May 3.
On April 12, the actor was admitted to the hospital for an undisclosed condition. At the time, the news was confirmed by Foxx’s daughter on Instagram.
In actress Corinne Foxx’s since-deleted post, she wrote, “From the Foxx Family: We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” as previously reported.
“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,” she added. “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, The Foxx Family.”
