New Trend? Amy Klobuchar Also Plans Upcoming Fox News Town Hall.

As The Daily Wire has reported, socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) participated in a Fox News town hall earlier this week. Although many on the Left pilloried Sanders for his willingness to appear on Fox News, many across the ideological spectrum also praised him. For his part, as The Daily Wire reported, President Donald Trump was none too pleased about Sanders’ Fox News appearance:

President Donald Trump took a swing at “Special Report” host Bret Baier and Fox News on Tuesday over a town hall event the network held the night prior for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), a self-described “democratic socialist” and currently the leading contender for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination.

President Trump expressed his displeasure with the “smiley” Baier’s alleged soft questioning of Sanders and the network’s overall bent as of late, citing the recent hiring of disgraced CNN contributor and Democratic operative Donna Brazile.

“So weird to watch Crazy Bernie on [Fox News]. Not surprisingly, [Bret Baier] and the ‘audience’ was so smiley and nice,” said Trump via Twitter. “Very strange, and now we have [Donna Brazile]?”

Baier himself quickly responded to Trump, inviting him back on to the leading cable news network: “Thanks for watching Mr. President – we’d love to have you on a town hall soon — or even an interview on [“Special Report”] — it’s been awhile. We cover all sides.”

While it is unclear whether Trump might soon take up Baier on his offer, it seems that a different — and unlikely — politician is inclined to soon appear on Fox News: Unheralded 2020 Democratic presidential contender Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN).

As The Hill reports, the town hall will also be hosted by Baier:

Fox News announced on Wednesday that it will feature a town hall with 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) next month.

The announcement, made by Fox News and Fox Business president and Executive Editor Jay Wallace, will take place on Wednesday, May 8, and it will be broadcast live from 6:30-7:30 p.m. live from Milwaukee.

The town hall will be moderated by “Special Report” anchor Bret Baier and “The Story” anchor Martha MacCallum, both of whom moderated a town hall with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Monday.

The Fox News town hall with Sanders from Bethlehem, Pa., was watched by nearly 2.6 million viewers, making it the most-watched town hall of 2019.

Prediction market website currently has Klobuchar pegged as the ninth-leading contender for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination. Klobuchar found herself in hot water in February, as reports surfaced of her previously abusive relationship with some of her Capitol Hill staffers. The Daily Wire reported:

The [New York] Times began by citing a story about an aide who had gotten a salad for Klobuchar but lost the requisite eating utensils in an airport terminal, prompting Klobuchar to truculently eat the salad with a comb she pulled from her bag, then tell the aide to clean the comb.

The Times said it interviewed roughly 25 former staff members of Klobuchar’s and perused internal emails; many of the aides claimed working for Klobuchar was dehumanizing. Former aides also said Klobuchar would impede the chances for them to find another job, even speaking with her employees’ prospective employer to inhibit the chances for a new job.
