New Poll Shows Americans In Favor Of The Trump Endorsed RAISE Act

   DailyWire.com

A new poll was released on Wednesday revealing that a majority of Americans support the new immigration reform bill that is being put forward by conservatives.

The Reforming American Immigration for a Strong Economy Act, also known as the RAISE Act, aims at reforming the United States’ immigration policy as well as working at curbing illegal immigration. It was sponsored by Senators Tom Cotton (R-AR) and David Perdue (R-GA) and publicly supported by President Donald Trump.

According to the White House, the “bill will create a merit-based immigration system that protects our workers, our taxpayers, and our economy.”

The Left and their allies in the mainstream media have become unglued trying to denounce the bill, even bringing on establishment GOP lawmakers like Arizona Senator Jeff Flake to tout amnesty for illegal immigrants.

According to a new poll conducted by the Morning Consult and Politico, when you break down the various parts of the bill, it receives even wider support.

Eli Yokley writes:

The survey found 44 percent of voters said they supported the plan introduced last week by Republican Sens. Tom Cotton (Ark.) and David Perdue (Ga.) after they were informed about various components of the immigration bill. Three in 10 voters said they oppose it, the survey found.

This is true across the board when it comes to various facets of the RAISE Act.

The bill’s most popular provision was the points system. Six in 10 (61 percent) support an immigration program that “would award points based on criteria such as education, English-language ability, and prospective salary.” That was followed by support by 59 percent of voters for limiting the number of refugees the U.S. offers permanent residency.

Among six provisions of the Republican plan that were tested, the least popular idea was one to reduce the number of legal immigrants allowed into the U.S. by half over the next decade. Just under 4 in 10 voters (39 percent) opposed the idea, while 48 percent support it.

Of course, the bill is polling low within the Democrat Party.

According to the poll, Democrats oppose the plan, 49 percent to 28 percent, while 7 in 10 Republicans support it. Just 11 percent of Republicans opposed it, as described. On Capitol Hill, the measure has earned the ire of Democrats.

This new poll flies in the face of the left-wing narrative claiming the RAISE Act is against the values of the United States. Clearly, the American people do not agree with every item on the bill, but they do want comprehensive immigration reform.
