According to the chief of police of Nashville, the transgender shooter who murdered three children and three adults at a Christian school likely had plans to launch an attack at a local mall, as well as an attack on family members.

The 28-year-old shooter killed Evelyn Dieckhaus (9), Hallie Scruggs (9), William Kinney (9), Dr. Katherine Koonce (60), Cynthia Peak (61), and Mike Hill, 61, at The Covenant School on Monday.

“We have a manifesto, we have a booklet that shows exactly what she had planned to do; we have maps that showed the entry point into the school; the weapons that was [sic] going to be used; the clothing that she was going to wear. She had drawn it up almost like a cartoon character; it was exactly what she had on during this incident,” Nashville Police Chief John Drake said on “CBS Mornings.”

Drake spoke of the police visiting the home of the shooter’s parents: “Searched the home, we found two more weapons there, and I believe some more maps pertaining to, maybe some, thinking about some other incidents. We strongly believe there was [sic] going to be some other targets including family members and one of the malls here in Nashville and it just did not happen.”

The older sister of Evelyn Dieckhaus had a heartbreaking response to the shooting at a vigil for the victims Monday night at Woodmont Christian Church.

“I don’t want to be an only child,” she said.

Just prior to the massacre, the shooter sent messages to a friend, writing, “I’m planning to die today. THIS IS NOT A JOKE!!!! You’ll probably hear about me on the news after I die.”

“My family doesn’t know what I’m about to do,” the shooter continued. “One day this will make more sense. I’ve left more than enough evidence behind. … But something bad is about to happen.”

Covenant School said it was “shattered” by the shooting, which police said was committed by a woman who identifies as a man.

“Our community is heartbroken. We are grieving tremendous loss and are in shock coming out of the terror that shattered our school and church. We are focused on loving our students, our families, our faculty and staff and beginning the process of healing,” the school said in a statement.
