Colleagues and friends rallied to send their prayers and well-wishes when reports began to circulate early Monday morning that actor Jeremy Renner had been injured in an accident.

Renner, who is well-known for his portrayal of the comic superhero Hawkeye in a number of films within the Marvel cinematic universe, reportedly suffered serious injuries when the plow he was using to clear his Nevada driveway rolled over his legs.

Entertainment website TMZ shared video of “The Hurt Locker” star being airlifted to the hospital, and reported that a neighbor — who happened to be a doctor — had been able to get to Renner before first responders arrived and had applied a tourniquet to slow the bleeding.

“My God,” actor Josh Gad tweeted when he read the news. “Praying for @jeremyrenner and his family.”

Comic writer Christopher Yost wished Renner a quick recovery as well, adding, “Wishing @JeremyRenner a full and speedy recovery. I remember feeding him a hundred different lines for his scene in Thor, he was out in the fake rain for hours on a cold night, up in a cherry picker with a bow and arrow. Couldn’t be more game, an incredibly nice, genuine guy.”

“My heart is with @Jeremyrenner,” tweeted “Guardians of the Galaxy” director James Gunn.

“Terminator 2: Judgment Day” actor Robert Patrick — who also starred alongside Renner in 2014’s “Kill the Messenger” added, “Sending up thoughts and prayers for @jeremyrenner.”

Actress Tara String, who starred opposite Renner in the 1995 comedy “National Lampoon’s Senior Trip,” shared her well-wishes too: “My sweet @JeremyRenner. Loved you for decades. From a Senior Trip to the #MCU. Sending you & your closest healing love, light & strength for a full recovery. #JeremyRenner.”

A representative for the actor released an official statement on Monday, saying, “As of now, we can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather related accident while plowing snow earlier today. His family is with him and he is receiving excellent care.”

Renner’s last tweet before the accident was a promotion for his upcoming reality show on Disney+, “Rennervations.”

There’s no better way to kick off the new year than giving back to those who need it most! Don’t miss #Rennervations, coming soon to @Disney+.”

The show’s official description reads: “Jeremy Renner gives back to communities around the world by reimagining unique purpose-built vehicles to meet a community’s needs.”
