The mainstream media remains silent on the growing persecution of Christians in the Middle East, Pan Asia, and Africa, despite the increasing violence against both Protestants and Catholics.
Just a few short months after radical Islamic extremists led a massacre against Christians living in a Nigerian village, the same group of Muslim Fulani herdsmen ambushed and slaughtered nine Christians, injuring three others.
According to a Morning Star News report, radical extremists ambushed members of the Church of Christ In Nations (COCIN) on the evening of Tuesday, November 5 in the Riyom Local Government Area inside the village of Rim as the group headed home after shopping at a local market. The local police are investigating the incident.
COCIN lead pastor, Rev. Dacholom Datiri, told the press, “We have continued to be forced into mourning the death of some our members for no just cause. Whatever it is, our faith is dependent on Jesus Christ, our Savior.”
The attack garnered political support for the Rim congregation. One Nigerian National Assembly parliament member, Istifanus Gyang, publicly condemned the attacks in the Plateau state, calling the Islamic extremists a “terror militia.”
Gyang told church leaders, “We shall therefore overcome this season, as it is written, ‘weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning.’”
Emmanuel Damboyi, chairman of the Riyom Council, took it a step further. “I think the Fulani leaders are not ready for peace,” he told the local media. “They should be arrested and questioned for these killings.”
Earlier this year in Nigeria, a Catholic priest was kidnapped, only to be later found murdered, and a mother was killed by extremists alongside her children.
The problem is not isolated to Africa. Christians living in Vietnam and India have also faced intense persecution at the hands of radical extremists.
While these Christ followers remain faithful under the intense persecution, the press prefers not to acknowledge their struggle, emboldening the anti-Christian bigotry across the world.
