On Monday, in honor of America’s Independence Day, arch-leftist filmmaker Michael Moore issued a laundry list of demands in order for him to stay in the country.
Moore first quoted the Declaration of Independence by saying he was “standing up for Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.”
Then he issued his ultimatum, starting with this absurd premise: “I refuse to live in a country threatened by white supremacy — and I’m not leaving. So we‘ve got a problem.”
Claiming he himself was blessed with “full citizenship” but women and girls have been rendered “official second-class citizens” by the recent SCOTUS decision overturning Roe v. Wade, Moore ranted that they had been “conscripted to a life of Forced Birth should they fall pregnant and not want to be.”
Moving on from abortion, Moore turned to another Democratic Party staple: race. With typical hyperbole, he huffed, “I demand an end to the mass incarceration of Black Americans, an end to police shooting Black people, and I demand that reparations be made to the Black community for all they currently have to suffer and endure.”
But having posited the supposed anti-women, anti-black nature of America, how to solve the problem? Simple: “I insist we remove every single Republican from office in November. The Republican Party has dismantled itself and its remaining rogue elements now exist purely to overturn legitimate election results and overthrow the elected will of the vast majority of the American people.”
Moore then segued to promises he intended to keep:
Until women’s rights have been fully reinstated, and their equal rights are enshrined in our Constitution (now that the required 38 states have passed the Equal Rights Amendment), I will not shut up about this.
No surprise there; if silence is indeed golden, Moore would be a perpetual pauper.
“I won’t stop until Roe is reinstated and 51% of Congress is female,” he threatened.
Of course, the Democratic Party is a trifle confused about what a woman is, so there’s no telling how many of Moore’s candidates may be biological men.
“I will help to organize a massive Get Out The Vote drive amongst the millions who follow me on social media, listen to my podcast, and read my Substack column,” he boasted. “I will help lead a national strike, in whatever form it needs to take, and if we want to see immediate change, watch what happens when we shut down even 10% of the country.”
Referencing his long-gone halcyon days of yore, he chortled, “POOF! goes Wall Street! Hit ‘em where it counts.”
