According to the Hollywood Reporter, President Barack Obama has named Barbra Streisand, Steven Spielberg and James Taylor among the “17 distinguished Americans” to receive the prestigious Medal of Freedom. Unsurprisingly, Obama felt that “our nation’s highest civilian honor” was fitting for the far-left entertainers.
Barbra Streisand may be a talented thespian, but one may be confused as to how exactly she wound up on a list of those honoring freedom. Simply put, Streisand has been an outspoken left-wing activist and Obama supporter for years.

From her appearance on President Nixon’s “enemies list” to her singing performance at a fund-raising gala for Barack Obama, Barbra Streisand has a long history of political involvement. Most notable is her bankrolling of left-wing causes, with the Streisand Foundation steering millions to groups promoting every liberal fantasy. Among her favorite causes are women’s issues, nuclear disarmament and the environment. She even donated $1 million to the William Jefferson Clinton Foundation to help solve global warming.
Steven Spielberg has created some incredible movies, among them Jaws, Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List and Saving Private Ryan. But how that translates into the Medal of Freedom is questionable. Of course, this Hollywood mega-star is also an extremely outspoken leftist. Spielberg is a big-time Obama supporter; even donating at least $1 million to the powerful super PAC priorities USA in 2012 in effort to get Obama reelected. Oh, and he’s a great friend of Fidel Castro, too.
Completing the trifecta is none other than James Taylor. A terrific songwriter, the real reason this leftist is on the list has to be his performance in France alongside Secretary of State John Kerry. Taylor embarrassingly sang “You’ve Got a Friend” shortly after the attack on the French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo in Paris, seemingly as a sign of “solidaity.”
These far-left “Medal of Freedom” honorees have two things in common: the blessing of their fearless leader, Barak Obama (the one they have so loyally stumped for) and the crazy gene.
