New White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre got some support from an unlikely place when &#8220;Fox &amp; Friends&#8221; co-host Ainsley Earhardt jumped to her defense during Thursday morning&#8217;s broadcast.
Co-host Brian Kilmeade was highly critical of Jean-Pierre – who gave her first official White House press briefing on Monday after taking over the role vacated by Jen Psaki — and Earhardt argued that she should be allowed some time to get used to the job.

Kilmeade argued that Jean-Pierre appeared <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/bernie-campaign-flack-claims-only-racists-and-sexists-think-new-press-secretarys-first-day-was-a-train-wreck-it-was/">wholly unprepared</a> for the job, pointing to the fact that she had spent much of the briefing looking through her notes and had at times even resorted to repeating White House <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/new-white-house-press-sec-claims-disinformation-mischaracterizations-tanked-disinformation-board/">talking points</a> that did not address the questions she was attempting to answer.
&#8220;&#8216;That&#8217;s what it says in my folder, so it must be true.&#8217; She is off to an awful start. I mean, I cannot – I don’t know how she is going to keep that job. She didn’t know anything instinctively, was reading things off,&#8221; Kilmeade critiqued her performance thus far, comparing the way she was answering questions to someone in sales responding to any and all potential objections with the same boilerplate copy that was designed to push the sale.
&#8220;So you just sit there and you read off the board no matter what they said,&#8221; Kilmeade continued. &#8220;That&#8217;s what it was, it was like, okay, Putin&#8217;s Price Hike, let me go find that page. &#8230; You have to understand the issues in order to be able to answer the questions. It makes you think you can’t even use those soundbites for a news story.&#8221;
&#8220;It has to be a very nerve-wracking job though,&#8221; Earhardt pushed back.
&#8220;She’s not prepared for it,&#8221; Kilmeade replied.
Co-host Steve Doocy interjected then, noting that Psaki had often brought the same binder to the lectern with her and consulted it when necessary
But Kilmeade was quick to rebut Doocy as well, saying that Psaki had been &#8220;light-years&#8221; better &#8220;from day one.&#8221;
&#8220;Maybe just give her a chance. Maybe in a few weeks &#8230;&#8221; Earhardt tried again.
&#8220;I would not be surprised if she does not get any better,&#8221; Kilmeade said.

Vice President JD Vance twisted the knife on Iran in the hours after a United States strike that crippled multiple nuclear facilities, telling &#8220;Meet the Press&#8221; anchor Kristen Welker that Iran was apparently &#8220;not very good at war.&#8221;
Vance began by explaining that the United States did not want to go to war with Iran, but that peace was absolutely contingent on Iran not having access to a nuclear weapon. He said that was what the targeted strike on Iran&#8217;s three nuclear facilities was meant to accomplish.
&#8220;What we said to the Iranians is that we do not want war with Iran,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We actually want peace, but we want peace in the context of them not having a nuclear weapons program — and that&#8217;s exactly what the President accomplished last night.&#8221;

Vance said that two questions remained unanswered: whether Iran planned to attack American troops or continue pursuing a nuclear weapons program — either of which could provoke a wider response.
The vice president went on to address claims that the United States had upended any chances at diplomacy with Iran, saying that it was the Islamic Republic that had put an end to diplomatic efforts when efforts made by the United States were not taken seriously.
&#8220;The foreign minister is exactly wrong &#8230; We only took this action, Kristen, when it was clear, as the president said, that the Iranians were tapping us along.&#8221;
Vance recounted the months of negotiations, noting that early on in the administration, there had been some hope that the Iranians might have actually been prepared to come to the table. But when it became clear that they were not truly giving the negotiations a chance, Vance said it became clear that the United States had to act.
&#8220;They were trying to draw this process out as long as possible so that they could rebuild their nuclear weapons program without the threat of American action,&#8221; Vance explained. &#8220;We didn&#8217;t blow up the diplomacy. The diplomacy never was given a real chance by the Iranians.&#8221;
&#8220;The Iranians are clearly not very good at war. Perhaps they should follow President Trump&#8217;s lead and give peace a chance,&#8221; he concluded.

JD Vance: Iranians ‘Not Very Good At War,’ Should ‘Give Peace A Chance’

Iran&#8217;s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has reportedly drafted a short list of potential successors as a contingency in case Israel targets him next.
The Iranian supreme leader has spent much of the last couple of weeks in hiding as Israeli forces systematically targeted nuclear research facilities, nuclear scientists, and military leaders — and as The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/21/world/middleeast/iran-ayatollah-israel-war.html">reported</a> on Saturday, those targeted strikes have Khamenei worried that he could be next on the list.
According to the report, Khamenei has resorted to speaking through a &#8220;trusted aid&#8221; and refuses to use electronic communications in order to better obscure his location. The NYTimes quoted several anonymous officials as confirming that the ayatollah had also chosen replacements for a number of his military leaders.
Khamenei, the officials said, is taking steps to avoid being assassinated — but they also said that if an attempt were to succeed, he would view himself as a martyr. &#8220;Given the possibility, the ayatollah has made the unusual decision to instruct his nation’s Assembly of Experts, the clerical body responsible for appointing the supreme leader, to choose his successor swiftly from the three names he has provided,&#8221; the report stated.
Khamenei&#8217;s short list circumvents the typical process for selecting a successor — during which clerics also submit names for consideration — but as Johns Hopkins University professor and Iran expert Vali Nasr explained, &#8220;The top priority is the preservation of the state. It is all calculative and pragmatic.&#8221;
The surprising move, according to the quoted officials, is that Khamenei did not put his son Mojtaba on the list despite most believing that he was a frontrunner for the position. Instead, the list is reportedly comprised of the names of three senior clerics.
The news came just hours before President Donald Trump announced that the American military had successfully executed strikes on three major nuclear targets in Iran.

Iran’s Khamenei Has Drafted Short-List Of Successors In Case Israel Targets Him Next

CNN&#8217;s Van Jones warned progressives to &#8220;get on board&#8221; with President Donald Trump&#8217;s position on Iran — namely that the Islamist state cannot be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon of any kind.
Jones, who served in former President Barack Obama&#8217;s administration as the Green Jobs Czar, spoke from his own experience visiting Israel and argued that the United States could not treat Iran as a &#8220;normal country&#8221; when it came to implementing foreign policy.

Obama ‘Green Jobs’ Flack Sides With Trump On Iran: ‘They Cannot Have A Bomb’

Whoopi Goldberg took a wave of backlash after she used her platform on ABC&#8217;s &#8220;The View&#8221; to claim that black Americans — even in the year 2025 — were no better off than Iranian citizens living under the brutal and oppressive Islamist government.
Goldberg and cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-view-goes-sideways-when-two-cohosts-claim-black-americans-are-worse-off-than-iranians">squared off</a> on the topic during Wednesday&#8217;s broadcast, when Griffin correctly pointed out the fact that an Iranian woman would likely be arrested — or worse — for stepping foot outside wearing even the relatively modest outfit she had on at the time. &#8220;I can’t have my hair showing, I can’t wear a skirt, I can’t have my arms out,&#8221; she said.
Goldberg apparently objected to the idea that Iranians were more oppressed than black Americans, and said, &#8220;Listen, here’s the thing — let’s not do the — let’s not do that, because if we start with that, we have been known in this country to tie gay folks to the car.&#8221;
“I’m sorry, but where the Iranian regime is today is nothing compared to the United States,” Griffin interjected, again correctly.
&#8220;They used to just keep hanging black people!&#8221; Goldberg exclaimed, and continued to press the point.
But much like their reaction when Goldberg claimed that the Holocaust was &#8220;not about race,&#8221; critics quickly made it clear that they were not buying her assertions.
Guy Benson drove the point home during an appearance on Fox News&#8217; &#8220;America&#8217;s Newsroom,&#8221; saying at first, &#8220;I call that show a daily national televised insane asylum for a reason.&#8221;

‘Moral Idiocy’: Whoopi Goldberg Trashed After Claiming Black Americans Worse Off Than Iranians

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) said that she doesn&#8217;t feel safe &#8220;at all&#8221; in the wake of the weekend shootings targeting Democratic lawmakers in Minnesota — and she argued that President Donald Trump should &#8220;reprioritize&#8221; money spent on things like the U.S. Army&#8217;s 250th birthday celebration on extra security for members of Congress.
Crockett joined the cohosts of ABC&#8217;s &#8220;The View&#8221; for Thursday&#8217;s broadcast, where she referred to the Army&#8217;s 250th birthday celebration as President Trump&#8217;s &#8220;little birthday parade&#8221; as if he had simply been throwing himself a party. The show&#8217;s liberal cohosts made no attempt to correct her.

&#8220;We have nothing. The only people in the House that have protection, you get protection based upon your leadership post. That’s it. Those are the only ones,&#8221; she said. &#8220;So when you figure out security, you have to hopefully raise enough money to then be able to pay for security yourself. This is a problem, especially in light of the environment.&#8221;
&#8220;So I did text a Republican that I consider to be a friend — yes, I have Republican friends, just so y’all know. I did, and I said, &#8216;listen, your people need to fix this,'&#8221; she continued, making it clear that she believed the entirety of the threat was coming from the right. &#8220;Like, I’m tired, right? And there are Republicans that are concerned. To be clear, they’re not concerned about the radical leftists that they talk about. They’re concerned about MAGA, because we saw the same thing happen when we had the Speaker election, right? And so, when people are mad about them not voting for Jim Jordan, they started threatening their spouses and all kinds of stuff.&#8221;
&#8220;And another thing they’re not talking about that really ticked me off because I just learned about it in the midst of what happened is that someone has been sending pizzas to members’ homes and they’ve not done anything. So I’m just like, we still have a role to play. I get that nobody really likes the Congress, but I mean, we still are duly elected and we’re a co-equal branch of government, but we always seem like we’re the stepchild,&#8221; she concluded.
&#8220;Well, it makes it even more irresponsible knowing that as you said, they would come for a sophomore member of the House knowing that you’re not protected,&#8221; Haines agreed.
Cohost Joy Behar weighed in then, suggesting that Trump was &#8220;scared&#8221; of Crockett. &#8220;She’s tough and smart.&#8221;
&#8220;That doesn’t change the danger it puts her in,&#8221; Haines argued.

Leavitt laid into the Texas Democrat in response to a question from The Daily Wire&#8217;s own Mary Margaret Olohan, who mentioned Crockett&#8217;s comments: &#8220;She said Trump supporters are &#8216;mentally ill&#8217; before calling for bipartisan support against the president.
