Superstar Mariah Carey definitely got everyone’s attention on Monday when she announced via social media that she was hitting the road for her 2023 Merry Christmas Tour.

The 54-year-old pop singer went viral with 1.3 million views and counting after she shared the exciting news with her 21 million followers that her “Merry Christmas One and All! tour” was happening.

“Yes, the actual defrosting has begun!” Carey’s post read. “Announcing the MERRY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL Tour! On sale 10/6.”

The “Fantasy” hitmaker’s post included a graphic that read, “The Holiday Tradition Returns” and it included a list of the dates for her shows that start November 15 in Highland, California before coming to an end December 17 in New York, New York at Madison Square Garden.

Carey’s tour will take her from the west coast to shows in Denver, Chicago, Kansas City and Philadelphia and include stops in Canada. Live Nation’s announcement of the upcoming tour included that it’s her “exclusive Christmas concerts for this holiday season,” People magazine noted.

“This festive event is a celebration of the global superstar’s timeless collection of holiday classics including the record-breaking mega-hit, ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You,’ and fan favorite chart toppers,” it added.

Presale for tickets starts Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 10 a.m. local time ahead of the general on sale which opens on Friday, Oct. 6 at 10 a.m. local time at LiveNation.com, the outlet added.

Carey’s monster 1994 hit song “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has led some to label the singer the “Queen of Christmas.” And each year around Christmas time Carey shoots up the music charts as the popular song gets streamed over and over again. Her song has truly become a classic along with the likes of Nat King Cole’s “The Christmas Song” and Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas.” And it’s been a winner not just for the artist, but for her co-writer, Walter Afanasieff, and her label Sony Music, Billboard magazine previously noted.

In 2021, the master recording of Carey’s version generated domestically 1.747 million song consumption units, according to Luminate, which Billboard estimates as making $1.36 million for the singer and her label.

Carey’s hit song shows no signs of slowing down either, after the tune topped the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time in 2019, then again in 2020, 2021, and again in 2022, the outlet noted.
