Chiefs players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce along with the Kansas City team donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to victims of the Super Bowl victory parade shooting, which left one person dead and 22 people injured.

Mahomes and his wife Brittany, through his “15 & the Mahomies Foundation,” donated $50,000 to a “special emergency fund” set up between the Chiefs and the United Way “to support the community in efforts to heal” following the horrific events at the conclusion of the parade on February 14, the Kansas City Star reported.

In addition, the Chiefs, the team’s owner Clark Hunt’s Hunt Family Foundation, and the NFL made a combined donation of $200,000 to the #KCStrong Fund.

At the time of this publication, #KCStrong Fund has raised more than $860,000 that “will first and foremost go to support the victims and their families.” The funds will also go to “support first responders” and “support violence prevention and recovery organizations,” including mental health services, the fundraiser message noted.

“This moment is an opportunity to turn our collective outrage into action,” Chris Rosson, president and CEO of the United Way of Greater Kansas City, said in a news release.

The Chiefs team also announced that they were selling T-shirts with the message “Kansas City Strong” for $25.99 with proceeds going toward the #KCStrong Fund, the outlet noted.

Kansas City star Kelce donated a total of $100,000 to the Reyes family, whose two young daughters were shot following the team’s victory parade, through his charity Eighty-Seven & Running organization, the “Today” show noted.

The GoFundMe for the Reyes family set a goal of $100,000, and at the time of this publication, has raised more than $198,000 that will go toward providing “vital financial support for their physical and mental recovery, any leftover funds will be saved for their college funds.”

Shortly after the shooting, Kelce’s girlfriend Taylor Swift donated $100,000 to a GoFundMe set up by the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a local radio DJ who was killed in the shooting. A message on the crowdfund site said the funds will “help provide vital financial support to her family as they process this unthinkable tragedy.” The family set a goal of $75,000 and has so far raised more than $374,000.

On Friday, Mahomes and his wife also visited Children’s Mercy Hospital and spent time with the Reyes daughters, who were both shot in the leg and had to undergo surgery after the shooting.
