Lying Lena Strikes Again? Shelter Rips Dunham For Apparent Fibs Over Dog

Hollywood feminist Lena Dunham is back to her lying ways, according to a Brooklyn-based no-kill animal shelter.

Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition (BARC) has gone after Dunham for her apparent lies over a rescue dog named Lamby the Girls creator gave up in June.

In an Instagram post, Dunham claimed she gave up Lamby to an “amazing professional facility” because the dog was “dangerous to him and others” in a “typical home environment.” Those at the Los Angeles-based facility “educated in a rescue dog’s specific trauma” will care for Lamby now, she claimed.

“Lamby suffered terrible abuse as a pup that made having him in a typical home environment dangerous to him and others- we needed to be responsible to ourselves, our neighbors and especially our beloved boy,” wrote Dunham. ” … I will miss him forever but sometimes when you love something you have to let it go.”

“Someday I’ll really write about the pain and relief of letting Lamby go off and really be Lamby, biting and peeing in his own mouth and all. There were so many lessons in it, about forgiving myself and loving with an open palm and giving in to a larger plan,” added the actress with an affinity for taking her clothes off.

But the rescue shelter says Dunham is not telling the truth about the dog. “When she adopted the dog from us, it wasn’t crazy,” BARC spokesperson Robert Vazquez told Yahoo.

“I have pictures of the dog loving on Lena and her mom, which is weird if the dog was abused. It wouldn’t be cuddling with her or be in the bed with her ‘boyfriend’ in the pages of Vogue,” Vazquez pushed-back.

The spokesperson also claimed that Dunham’s 2013 claims in the New Yorker concerning past abuse of the dog are unfounded. Lamby’s records do not indicate “multiple owners that abused the dog,” he said.

Dunham is sticking to her story and firing back at BARC, claiming the organization is “willfully misunderstanding the truth.”

“Lamby was and is one of the great loves of my life. When I met him I knew we’d have an amazing journey. But his aggression — which was unpredictable — and his particular issues, which remain myriad, weren’t manageable, at least not by me. I did what I thought the best mother would do, which was to give him a life that provided for his specific needs,” the actress wrote on Instagram on Thursday.

“He’d been with me for nearly four years and I was his mom — I was in the best position to discern what those needs were. After countless hours of training, endless financial support and a lot of tears he was given access to a better life. I still support him financially and I’ll always be there for him in every way but he’s notably happier in his new surroundings,” she added.

Dunham has landed herself in hot water over apparent deceit before, much more serious deceit.

As noted by John Nolte, Dunham all but named her alleged rapist in an autobiography she fashioned as “non-fiction,” though the man who fit her description was innocent. In other words, she essentially accused an innocent man of rape. After the prominent “Republican” named Barry from Oberlin College came out and declared his innocence, Dunham and her team stood by for four long months until eventually admitting the wrongly accused man’s innocence in the face of public pressure.

As noted by Nolte, “Gawker later learned that the man she originally accused of sexually assaulting her is a Democrat, not a Republican.”
