LOL: Fired Google Employee Gets Job Offer From Famous ‘Truth-Teller’

   DailyWire.com

The Google software developer who was fired for speaking truth to power in “Google’s ideological echo chamber” has just been offered a job by a man infamous for doing the same thing. WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange says he’d be proud to employ the so-called “anti-diversity” former Google employee James Damore.

WikiLeaks founder, the controversial computer hacker and intelligence leaker who has been claiming diplomatic asylum in the Ecuadorian embassy in London since 2012, issued a series of tweets over the last few days commenting on the falsely labeled “anti-diversity” memo at Google and the company’s handling of the situation.

“Identity politics 2.0 wars come to Google. Oh no. But mass spying is fine since its equal opportunity predation,” he wrote when the story first broke.

After news that Google had axed Damore for his thought-crime, Assange slammed the company for “censorship” and offered the Harvard grad a job.

”Censorship is for losers. @WikiLeaks is offering a job to fired Google engineer James Damore,” Assange wrote Tuesday. “Women & men deserve respect. That includes not firing them for politely expressing ideas but rather arguing back,” he added, along with a link to “good write up” on the memo.

So far no word on whether Damore is interested in a position at WikiLeaks, but he did tell The New York Times that he would “likely be pursuing legal action” against Google.

“I have a legal right to express my concerns about the terms and conditions of my working environment and to bring up potentially illegal behavior, which is what my document does,” he said.

According to Damore, he’d submitted a formal complaint to the National Labor Relations Board prior to getting fired; the company’s upper management, he said, were “misrepresenting and shaming me in order to silence my complaints.” Retaliating against an NLRB charge like the one he filed, he said, was “illegal.”

In an email titled “Our Words Matter,” Google’s CEO Pundar Pichai explained that Damore got fired for hurting women’s feelings. “The memo has clearly impacted our co-workers, some of whom are hurting and feel judged based on their gender,” wrote Pichai. “Our co-workers shouldn’t have to worry that each time they open their mouths to speak in a meeting, they have to prove that they are not like the memo states, being ‘agreeable’ rather than ‘assertive,’ showing a ‘lower stress tolerance,’ or being ‘neurotic.'”

As The Daily Wire reported, many of the claims promoted by the national media and the company about what Damore said in the “anti-diversity” memo were provably false, as those who read the memo when it was released soon learned. Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro summed up four of the most important claims in the memo that Damore did NOT make that the media accused him of making nonetheless. A few excerpts from Shapiro’s summary:

1. Women Are Biologically Unfit For Tech. CNN actually ran a segment today claiming that this was Damore’s suggestion. That’s patently false. In fact, Damore openly says the opposite. The media seem completely unable to comprehend the difference between the statement “women on average are different from men” and “this particular woman is different from this particular man.”

2. Diversity Is Bad. Damore opens the memo by stating, “I value diversity and inclusion.” Actually, Damore offers an entire section of his memo devoted to “non-discriminatory ways to reduce the gender gap.” He suggests that Google “make software engineering more people-oriented with pair programming and more collaboration,” “allow those exhibiting cooperative behavior to thrive,” “make tech and leadership less stressful,” and “allowing and truly endorsing (as part of our culture) part time work,” as well as changing stereotypical biases about male performance. Damore states that he believes that “arbitrary social engineering of tech just to make it appealing to equal portions of both men and women” would be foolish, but if there is a goal of helping the company succeed, such measures could be worthwhile.

3. Sexism Doesn’t Exist. The memo author explicitly dismisses this notion as well. Damore writes that he is “not denying that sexism exists.”

4. The Memo Promotes Violence! This is the most extreme claim being made by Leftists about the memo. It’s a lie. In fact, one of the rationales behind the memo was to prevent the PC-led violence that has infected college campuses. …
