Lizzo walked back her “I Quit” rage post from Friday and said she wanted to clarify her now-viral post, making it clear that she had no intention of quitting music as some had suggested.

In a video on Tuesday on Instagram, the 35-year-old singer — born Melissa Viviane Jefferson —said she was making the post because she just needed to clarify: “When I say ‘I quit,’ I mean I quit giving any negative energy attention.”

“What I’m not going to quit is the joy of my life, which is making music and connecting to people,” Lizzo told her followers. “And I know I’m not alone. In no way shape or form am I the only person experiencing that negative voice that’s louder than the positive.”

“If I can just give one person the inspiration or motivation to stand up for themselves and say they quit letting negative people, negative comments win then I’ve done even more than could’ve hoped for,” the singer continued. “I’m going to keep moving forward and keep being me.”

Lizzo closed out her video statement — which contained numerous edit cuts — by thanking those who had reached out to her and sent her so much love, something that she said “means more than you know.”

The video statement came after the “Good As Hell” hitmaker made headlines last week when she posted a cryptic message on social media about quitting, leaving many to speculate what exactly she meant — and whether she was referring to her music career or something else.

“I’m getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet,” Lizzo wrote in the post.

“All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it,” she added. “But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it.”

“I’m constantly up against lies being told about me for clout & views … being the butt of the joke every single time because of how I look … my character being picked apart by people who don’t know me and disrespecting my name I didn’t sign up for this s**t,” the singer continued.

She closed out her post on social media with the words “I Quit” and that was the last post the social media world heard from the music star until Tuesday.
