Sharon says her doctor would not prescribe her medication like Ozempic because she doesn’t have diabetes. Sheila responded by asking how she’s managing her weight if she’s not using those drugs.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Don’t you know, Sheila?&#8221; Sharon says. &#8220;Now, there’s a whole new obesity drug for those of us who can’t afford Ozempic and Mounjaro.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“I controlled all my cravings to be thinner with Lizzo,&#8221; she says, at which point Lizzo makes a surprised face while reacting to the clip.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A commercial for the fictional drug Lizzo starts playing, including a parody of the song from the Ozempic commercial. Sharon makes it clear that the drug doesn’t do anything besides make the user not care about being overweight. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The commercial concludes with Sharon saying, “Ask about the power of not giving a f*** with Lizzo.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;I really showed the world how to love yourself and not give a f*** to the point where these men in Colorado know who the f*** I am, and put it on their cartoon that’s been around for 25 years,” Lizzo said in conclusion as part of her reaction.</span></p>

‘I QUIT’: Lizzo Signals She’s Done Because She’s ‘The Butt Of The Joke Every Single Time’

<p><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lizzo"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Lizzo&#8217;s</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> attorneys have filed a motion to dismiss a harassment and discrimination </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lawsuit"><span style="font-weight: 400;">lawsuit</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> brought by a former employee.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment"><span style="font-weight: 400;">singer</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">’s lawyers requested the dismissal on Friday, per court documents obtained by </span><a href="https://people.com/lizzo-requests-to-dismiss-designers-harassment-lawsuit-8417614"><span style="font-weight: 400;">People</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. The documents claim that the case filed on behalf of Asha Daniels is “meritless and salacious,” the outlet noted.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The dismissal request further accused Daniels of “abandoning her post” by skipping a concert she was scheduled to work at in Paris. The document claims Daniels, who was employed as a wardrobe stylist, did not fulfill her employment obligations as she &#8220;failed to perform the work that she was assigned and, eventually, just played hooky and refused to show up for work.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Lizzo’s attorneys also said the harassment case should be tossed on a technicality because Daniels &#8220;is a New York resident who worked for a Delaware corporation while the singer was touring in Europe.&#8221; This would mean she &#8220;has alleged no nexus to California,” which is where the original suit was filed.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Daniels&#8217; attorney, Ron Zambrano, said in a statement that the motion to dismiss was &#8220;another Hail Mary by Lizzo’s team to try to shift blame to the victims, as she has done to the three other plaintiffs who have sued her for similar allegations of harassment, disability discrimination and retaliatory termination.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;Lizzo and her lawyers can continue trying to rationalize her illegal and wretched conduct but we remain committed to seeking justice for our clients, and look forward to our day in court where Lizzo can explain her behavior in a public forum,&#8221; he continued.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Daniels filed the lawsuit in September, claiming that she was the victim of a “racist and sexualized environment” while working for Lizzo. The suit also named Lizzo’s production manager, tour manager, and makeup artist in the document.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“I felt like I was living in a madhouse. It was totally shocking,” Daniels </span><a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/celebrity/lizzo-sued-sexual-harassment-lawsuit-racial-discrimination-tour-rcna105930"><span style="font-weight: 400;">told</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> NBC News of her alleged experience. “I was listening to this black woman on this huge stage have this message of self-love and caring for others and being empathetic and being strong and standing up for others. And I was witnessing myself, the dancers and the background vocalists and my local team in every city be harassed and bullied regularly.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Grammy Award-winning singer has multiple pending lawsuits. Three of her former backup dancers, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez, also </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/lizzo-responds-to-outrageous-lawsuit-alleging-sexual-harassment-body-shaming"><span style="font-weight: 400;">accused Lizzo of harassment</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> and body-shaming during their employment with her. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Lizzo is just one example of an increasingly common phenomenon: high-profile employers facing media scandals and expensive litigation due to toxic workplace allegations.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">According to recent reports, pop star Lizzo has been dropped from the shortlist of performers being considered for the Super Bowl halftime show. This is the latest public setback for the embattled star, who was recently sued by three former dancers alleging that her company created a hostile work environment of weight-shaming, sexual harassment, extreme stress, and other problems. The resulting media coverage presented a damning story to the public, and Lizzo&#8217;s online streams and downloads plummeted dramatically while her image transformed overnight.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">However, as is common in many of these situations, the lawsuit generating such breathless negative media coverage is itself quite weak. The suit is rife with questionable assumptions and leaps of logic. The most publicly damaging allegations — such as those of weight shaming lack any substantiation whatsoever. At times the lawsuit reads like the diary of a person afflicted by paranoia. Perhaps this is why Lizzo and her team confronted the main claimant about her mental health at one point, as the lawsuit alleges.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Yet the flawed nature of the lawsuit has not prevented it from causing tremendous damage to Lizzo&#8217;s image. Almost no one will actually read the lawsuit or read it with a critical eye, as the claimants and their attorneys well know, but bad headlines generated by the lawsuit are the real objective anyway. Those headlines can force an employer to the settlement table, no matter the facts: many of these suits are blatant money grabs aimed at easy settlements.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Toxic workplace allegations are becoming increasingly common, particularly in situations with high-profile targets and heavy media attention. Often these allegations entail lawsuits, but in many cases, damaging media coverage is the goal of disgruntled ex-employees. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Recently, talk show host and pop star Kelly Clarkson was accused by multiple anonymous employees in a hit piece by Rolling Stone. According to her accusers, her highly rated “The Kelly Clarkson Show” is run by overly demanding producers who don&#8217;t pay lower-level staff what they believe they should make. Similar allegations dogged the canceled HBO Max shows “Lovecraft Country” and “The Other Two,” while the Woody Harrelson series “The White House Plumbers” officially paused production to deal with workplace toxicity claims. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">In another arena, famous celebrity chef and restauranteur Barbara Lynch found herself besieged in the press recently over her supposedly toxic managerial style.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you find such claims highly subjective, you are correct. In fact, the problem with many of these toxic workplace scandals is their basis on the claimant&#8217;s subjective perception and understanding of events. Whereas the bar for establishing a toxic workplace claim was once quite high, it has now become unnecessary to prove anything at all to launch a negative media campaign, damage the target&#8217;s reputation, or even cancel the target altogether.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In hindsight, Ellen DeGeneres may have been the canary in the coal mine. In 2020, the media gleefully disseminated and amplified the claims of anonymous ex-employees who complained about the high-stress environment on “The Ellen Show.” A number of these overwrought allegations bordered on the comical, and one might wonder how much of this much ado about nothing is the result of a discordance between generational worldviews: one can detect in many of these allegations a particular whine indicative of a younger, self-entitled perspective. At any rate, despite any proof of actual misconduct, “The Ellen Show” was canceled within months.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If it feels as if we have been down this road before, perhaps that is because the new #ToxicWork movement feels similar to #MeToo in a number of concerning respects. Both movements contain threads of well-intentioned sentiment but are all too often weaponized to settle personal grievances, generate media coverage, and make money. And just as heavily publicized #MeToo claims often rely less on legitimate evidence of wrongdoing and more on subjective &#8220;she-said&#8221; accounts, so too do many allegations of workplace toxicity presented in the media and in high-profile civil litigation. In far too many situations, the truth doesn&#8217;t matter and it certainly doesn&#8217;t outweigh the power of dramatic, attention-grabbing misconduct headlines. And of course, the reputational and professional damage done is generally irreparable even if the claims can be legally invalidated.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Perhaps we would do well to take a lesson from #MeToo&#8217;s failures all too clearly illustrated in the hoax against Johnny Depp exposed last year in court and reserve judgment on toxic workplace allegations until such claims have been proved in court. A successful career takes decades to build but only hours to destroy in our current cancel culture.</span></p>

<p>Pop singer and rapper <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/former-lizzo-dancers-file-lawsuit-alleging-sexual-harassment-and-toxic-work-environment" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lizzo</a> responded Thursday to a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment and a toxic work environment.</p>
<p>Along with a slew of other allegations, three former backup dancers &#8212; Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez &#8212; claim Lizzo, whose real name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson, pressured them to engage with nude performers at an Amsterdam club in February.</p>
<p>The suit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, takes aim at Lizzo, her production company Big Grrrl Big Touring, Inc., and Lizzo’s dance team captain, Shirlene Quigley.</p>
<p>Lizzo described the allegations as &#8220;outrageous&#8221; in an Instagram post.</p>
<p>“Usually I choose not to respond to false allegations but these are as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous to not be addressed,” the 35-year-old wrote. “These sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional.”</p>
<p>Lizzo is also accused of body-shaming a dancer for gaining weight, which runs counter to the brand the singer has cultivated.</p>
<p>“The stunning nature of how Lizzo and her management team treated their performers seems to go against everything Lizzo stands for publicly, while privately she weight-shames her dancers and demeans them in ways that are … absolutely demoralizing,” the plaintiffs’ attorney, Ron Zambrano, said in a <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/lizzo-dancers-weight-shamed-pressured-touch-nude-performer-lawsuit-rcna95161" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a>.</p>
<p>“I am very open with my sexuality and expressing myself but I cannot accept or allow people to use that openness to make me out to be something I am not,” Lizzo reacted on Instagram. “There is nothing I take more seriously than the respect we deserve as women in the world. <p>As noted by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/former-lizzo-dancers-file-lawsuit-alleging-sexual-harassment-and-toxic-work-environment" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Wire</a>, Lizzo’s former creative director Quinn Whitney Wilson and dancer Courtney Hollinquest expressed support for the backup dancers suing the pop star.</p>
<p>“I’m not a part of the lawsuit – but this was very much my experience in my time there,&#8221; Hollinquest wrote. “I very much applaud the dancers courage to bring this to light.”</p>

‘Outrageous’: Lizzo Responds To Lawsuit Alleging Sexual Harassment, Toxic Work Environment

<p>Former backup dancers for <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lizzo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lizzo</a> filed a lawsuit on Tuesday against the singer and her production company alleging sexual harassment and a toxic work environment.</p>
<p>In a lawsuit obtained by <a href="https://people.com/lizzo-sued-by-former-backup-dancers-sexual-racial-harassment-hostile-work-environment-7568410?hid=4f90b78dc31e627328d98338e1fa49d03b364abc&amp;did=9849347-20230801&amp;utm_campaign=ppl-breakingnews_relationship-builder&amp;utm_source=ppl&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_content=080123&amp;lctg=4f90b78dc31e627328d98338e1fa49d03b364abc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">People magazine</a> and filed in Los Angeles Superior Court against the 35-year-old singer &#8212; born Melissa Jefferson &#8212; the three backup dancers are suing Lizzo, her production company, Big Grrrl Big Touring, Inc. and Lizzo&#8217;s dance team captain, Shirlene Quigley.</p>
<p>The three dancers &#8212; Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez &#8212; in the suit allege that Lizzo pressured them to engage with nude performers at an Amsterdam club in February of 2023.</p>

<p>&#8220;Lizzo began inviting cast members to take turns touching the nude performers,&#8221; the filing states, per <a href="https://apnews.com/article/lizzo-dancers-lawsuit-ea96f4c865bdd48fa8056a92cf14e7a7" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Associated Press</a>. During the sexually themed show in Amesterdam&#8217;s Red Light District, the &#8220;Good as Hell&#8221; hitmaker allegedly led a chant pressuring Davis to touch the breasts of one of the nude women performing at the club, despite the dancer &#8220;expressing her desire not to touch the performer,&#8221; People noted.</p>
<p>&#8220;Finally, the chorus became overwhelming, and a mortified Ms. Davis acquiesced in an attempt to bring an end to the chants,&#8221; the complaint states, the outlet noted. &#8220;Plaintiffs were aghast with how little regard Lizzo showed for the bodily autonomy of her employees and those around her, especially in the presence of many people whom she employed.&#8221;</p>
<p>Another part of the filing reads: &#8220;… things quickly got out of hand. <p>The suit also alleged that a member of the &#8220;About Damn Time&#8221; singer&#8217;s security team was reportedly pressured to get on stage and told by the singer to &#8220;take it off.&#8221;</p>
<p>Davis also alleged that she underwent what was labeled an &#8220;excruciating&#8221; 12-hour rehearsal, and &#8220;fearing the repercussions&#8221; of excusing herself to go to the restroom, &#8220;had no choice but to &#8216;soil herself&#8217; on stage,&#8221; Page Six noted.</p>
<p>In the suit, Quigley is accused of allegedly pushing her Christian beliefs onto dancers and &#8220;oversharing her masturbatory habits and sex life with her husband&#8221; with the team, People noted.</p>
<p>Davis and Williams started performing with Lizzo in 2021, and were later fired in April and May. Rodriguez, who was hired in 2021, left earlier this year, People noted.</p>
<p>&#8220;The stunning nature of how Lizzo and her management team treated their performers seems to go against everything Lizzo stands for publicly, while privately she weight-shames her dancers and demeans them in ways that are … absolutely demoralizing,&#8221; the plaintiffs&#8217; attorney, Ron Zambrano, said in a <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/lizzo-dancers-weight-shamed-pressured-touch-nude-performer-lawsuit-rcna95161" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a>.</p>
<p>After the lawsuit surfaced, Lizzo&#8217;s former creative director Quinn Whitney Wilson and dancer Courtney Hollinquest posted messages on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/cquestt/?hl=en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">social media</a> showing support for the dancers, <a href="https://pagesix.com/2023/08/01/lizzos-former-creative-director-backs-allegations-of-problematic-behavior/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Page Six</a> noted.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The 35-year-old musician shared a screenshot of a critical message she received and included a caption that said, “I JUST logged on and the app and this is the type of sh** I see about me on a daily basis.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“It’s really starting to make me hate the world,” Lizzo continued, according to </span><a href="https://www.billboard.com/music/music-news/lizzo-slams-body-shamers-make-me-hate-the-world-1235343163/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Billboard</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. “Then someone in the comments said I eat ‘lots of fast food.’ I LITERALLY STOPPED EATING FAST FOOD YEARS AGO… I’m tired of explaining myself all the time and I just wanna get on this app w/out seeing my name in some bullsh**.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Lizzo also set her tweets to protected so they can only be viewed by followers.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“The Love definitely do not outweigh the Hate on social media… all because I’m fat????” she wrote in a follow-up, followed by a message that said, “Y’all don’t know how close I be to giving up on everyone and quitting and enjoying my money and my man on a F***ING FARM…”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“I literally NEVER search my name this stuff just comes up on my TL &amp; my FYP it’s wild,” Lizzo tweeted. “I swear I just wanna look at dance videos and science news and this sh** comes in every day…”</span></p>

<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Grammy-winning singer Lizzo protested a new Tennessee law intended to protect children from sexually explicit “adult cabaret” performances, otherwise known as drag shows, by featuring a group of drag queens on stage at her all-ages Knoxville concert on Friday.</span></p>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">During her performance at the Knoxville at Thompson-Boling Arena, which kicked off the second leg of </span><em><span data-preserver-spaces="true">The Special 2our</span></em><span data-preserver-spaces="true"> last weekend, Lizzo featured several performers who were alumni of Ru Paul’s Drag Race, including Aquaria, Vanessa Vanjie, Asia O’Hara, Kandy Muse.</span></p>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">“In light of recent and tragic events and current events, I was told by people on the internet, ‘Cancel your shows in Tennessee,’ ‘Don’t go to Tennessee,’” Lizzo <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CrU0CndvWV1/">said</a> during her performance, which kicked off her second leg of <em>The Special 2our</em> tour on Friday in Knoxville at Thompson-Boling Arena. “Their reason was valid, but why would I not come to the people who need to hear this message the most?”</span></p>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Lizzo’s beef with the law comes after the Tennessee General Assembly voted this year to protect children from sexually explicit performances, which bans adults from impersonating the opposite sex in public or near where children could see it while appealing to prurient interests — that is, engaging in a sexually suggestive performance.</span></p>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">“Why would I not create a safe space in Tennessee where we can celebrate drag entertainers and celebrate our differences?” Lizzo <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CrWHQziuqMc/">said</a>.</span></p>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">“What people in Tennessee are doing is giving hope, so thank you so much for standing up for your rights, protecting each other, and holding the people accountable who should be protecting us.”</span></p>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">In the last year, footage has emerged from around the country, including in Texas, that has appeared to show children present at sexually explicit drag shows, prompting some lawmakers to introduce legislation.</span></p>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Senate Majority Leader Jack Johnson (R-Franklin) told The Daily Wire that he would introduce a law to protect children from “sexually explicit” performances last year. </span></p>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">“I think we would all agree that some of the video we have seen recently of some of these drag shows that were quote-unquote family-friendly were anything but that,” Johnson said. “And if I had attended one of those with my kids, I would have been mortified, and I would have wanted someone to be prosecuted for engaging in that kind of entertainment in front of my kids.” </span></p>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">The law came before Parker after Friends of George’s, a self-described “LGBTQ theatre company” based in Memphis, filed a suit challenging the law. Several upcoming shows by the company include “Drag Rocks” and “The Dragnificent Variety Show: The Gay Ole Opry.”</span></p>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Following the state’s Republican Gov. Bill Lee signing the legislation into law, a federal judge in Tennessee issued a temporary injunction against the law, saying it was too vague and a potential violation of the First Amendment.</span></p>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Democrat Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy told The Associated Press that he does not mind that the judge placed an injunction on the law. </span></p>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">“There has been much concern and confusion about the law from the community,” he <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/judge-blocks-tennessee-law-protecting-children-from-viewing-sexually-explicit-performances">said</a>. “This will allow the court to clarify the scope, application, and constitutionality of the statute. It’s important to understand the scope of this law so that it doesn’t have a harmful effect on constitutionally protected expression.”<br />
