Recording artist Lizzo got in on the trend of mocking the viral American Eagle ad with Sydney Sweeney, but most of her followers were not amused.
The 37-year-old rapper shared what appears to be an AI image of herself clad head to toe in denim to Instagram that included the caption, “My jeans are black.” The image also had text on it that said, “If the Democrats won the election.”
Comments on the image mostly criticized Lizzo for having beef with the Sweeney ad, pointing out that it wasn’t racist or hateful to put white people in advertisements.

“Lizzo this is embarrassing,” one person wrote. “Sydney being the face of the ad doesn&#8217;t take away from other ethnicities or beauty. Get real.”
“This is so weird. So companies are no longer allowed to use any white models to model their products?” another wrote.
“This promotes division and smells of racism and relevancy. Do better,” another wrote.
Many commenters also noted how Lizzo failed to tag the original creator of the <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DMvO-grx3Zw/?hl=en">image</a>, Kevin Flynn, who runs the account “whitepeoplehumor.” She also cropped out his name when reposting the ad recreation on her personal Instagram account.
The argument stems from American Eagle’s viral ad campaign featuring Sweeney posing provocatively with a sports car while helping advertise the retailer&#8217;s denim. In one of the ads, Sweeney says, “Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color. My jeans are blue.”
This messaging has led to absolute crashouts by mainstream media and leftist social media influencers, who insist the Sweeney ads are nothing but “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/leftists-crash-out-over-whiteness-of-sexy-sydney-sweeney-jean-ads">Nazi propaganda</a>.”
Backlash got so bad that American Eagle responded, but instead of apologizing, they doubled down. 
‘Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans’ is and always was about the jeans. Her jeans. Her story,” the company <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/american-eagle-refuses-to-cave-doubles-down-in-response-to-sydney-sweeney-ad">posted</a> on Friday to their Instagram.
“We’ll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way,” AE continued. “Great jeans look good on everyone.”

Hollywood stars have taken a knee on the “Trump is Hitler” meme, pivoting to the men and women of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/immigration-and-customs-enforcement-ice">ICE</a> (Immigration and Customs Enforcement).
A gaggle of notable names have ridiculed ICE for daring to enforce the nation’s immigration laws — laws supported by a majority of U.S. voters.
The agents, to date, have mostly focused on the worst offenders. Think illegal immigrants accused of heinous crimes who managed to remain free during the Biden administration.
Now, they’re being targeted by President Trump’s no-nonsense border czar Tom Homan. And progressive stars are raging everywhere they can against Team Homan. Late-night TV. Social media. Interviews.

Stephen King played <a href="https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:h7obn4tkp47wn7gqh4oe5eij/post/3lrxwo2xx322u?ref_src=embed">the Nazi card</a> against ICE officials from the progressive Utopia known as BlueSky, including a misspell of “Gestapo.”

Comedian Patton Oswalt used less incendiary rhetoric, by comparison, to light up ICE during a recent “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” appearance.
Oswalt called them “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YISQeVMl7RE">Pillsbury Stormtroopers</a>,” comparing their alleged physiques to his own lumpy form.
<blockquote>Your knees are hurting, your hips are screaming, and your back is aching … And you’re thinking, ‘Why didn’t I just stay home and play Red Dead Redemption and eat Sun Chips instead of coming out here in the heat where everyone’s booing me and I’m realizing that I’m the biggest douchebag on the planet?’</blockquote>
Oswalt’s rhetoric grew uglier when it came to Trump’s border czar. The “Ratatouille” star, after hearing about death threats tied to Homan, weighed in <a href="https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:bwvd55e4hsxpuxa5ikrfgqgo/post/3lshyjaky722d?ref_src=embed">via BlueSky</a>.

The far-Left hosts at “The View” couldn’t let the ICE raids go unnoticed. The ABC squad saw the chaos encircling Los Angeles earlier this month during the open borders protests and found the <a href="https://newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/nicholas-fondacaro/2025/06/10/view-la-riots-were-peaceful-days-ice-brought-crisis">source of the problem</a>.
They pointed to the ICE agents, not the protesters burning cars and hurling bricks at law enforcement officers.
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg says the city’s pro-illegal immigration rallies were “mostly peaceful” until ICE agents arrived on the scene. She leaned on impeccable sources for her wisdom.

Sunny Hostin chimed in, playing the “mostly peaceful” card and backing up Goldberg’s anti-ICE assessment.
Credit pop superstar Lizzo with the most deranged take on the matter.
She claimed “illegal” immigrants <a href="https://news.meaww.com/lizzo-sparks-backlash-over-no-such-thing-as-illegal-no-borders-anti-ice-rant-avoid-this-thinking">aren’t real</a> because no one actually owns land.

Sometimes, profanity is a celebrity’s best friend. Take Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny. He <a href="https://variety.com/2025/music/news/bad-bunny-calls-out-ice-video-puerto-rico-raids-1236434813/">blasted ICE agents</a> as “motherf****rs” in a Spanish screed on Instagram, tied to a video of agents interrogating unnamed people.
“Look, those motherf——s are in these cars, RAV-4s. They’re here in Pontezuela,” he posted in Spanish.

Not to be outdone, “The Late Show” host Stephen Colbert didn’t step in when one of his guests promoted extreme rhetoric from the show’s signature CBS couch. Instead, he piled on.
Congressman Maxwell Frost (D-FL) told the far-Left host ICE agents are <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/entertainment/2025/06/20/stephen-colbert-parrots-dem-rep-max-frosts-claim-ice-illegal-alien-arrests-look-like-kidnapping/">“kidnapping people.”</a>
<blockquote>We have ICE federal agents pulling up, terrorizing our communities, hopping out of unmarked vans, stealing and yes, kidnapping people, not giving them their day in court and yes, human trafficking them to other nations.</blockquote>
Colbert nodded along, doubling down on the kidnapping verbiage.

Veteran singer Shakira leaned into the fear-mongering part of the celebrity playbook, also conflating legal and illegal immigration during a BBC interview.

Mark Ruffalo, one of the most outspoken stars in the Hollywood galaxy, <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/mark-ruffalo-jimmy-kimmel-more-stars-protests-no-kings-1236291157/">railed against ICE efforts</a> during California’s “No Kings” June 14 protest.
<blockquote>We see a president who has made himself a king and dictator, and we don’t see an opposition that’s powerful enough to stand up against the trampling of our rights and the trampling of the Constitution that’s happening every single day with executive orders, with the refusal to obey court orders, kidnapping of immigrants, people who are here legally, people who their children are being taken from them.</blockquote>

Celebrity Nation decried the January 6 riot and demanded protesters pay a stiff price for battling beleaguered Capitol Police officers. Things are different now, apparently. They could have objected to ICE raids on different grounds, suggesting that hard-working illegals should find a path to citizenship, not a one-way ticket out of the U.S.
Instead, in the grand “Spinal Tap” tradition, they turned the incendiary rhetoric up to 11.
Worst of all, none of this is happening in a vacuum. The Department of Homeland Security says attacks on ICE agents have shot up <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/assaults-on-ice-agents-increase-500?author=Catherine+Maxwell&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Assaults+on+ICE+Agents+Increase+500%25">500% in recent weeks</a>. ICE agents are routinely doxxed, forcing them to mask up to protect their loved ones.
The stars won’t stop their incendiary rhetoric, apparently, even if it gets someone hurt. Or worse.

Lizzo is opening up about her recent weight loss, admitting that she did use a GLP-1 drug like Ozempic, but ultimately claims she dropped the weight due to major dietary changes.
“I’ve tried everything,” the 37-year-old singer said during a conversation on the “Just Trish” podcast. “It’s just the science, for me, calories in vs. calories out. Ozempic works because you eat less food.”
“It makes you feel full. So, if you can just do that on your own and get mind-over-matter, it’s the same,” she added.
The “Good as Hell” singer said that quitting her vegan diet in favor of eating beef and chicken helped her with weight loss.

“What did it for me was — actually it was not being vegan,” Lizzo said. “Because when I was vegan, I was consuming a lot of fake meats. I was eating a lot of bread. I was eating a lot of rice, and I had to eat a lot of it to stay full. But really I was consuming like 3,000 to 5,000 calories a day.”
“So for me, when I actually started eating whole foods and eating, like, beef and chicken and fish, I was actually full and not expanding my stomach by putting a lot of, like, fake things in there that wasn’t actually filling me up,” she continued.
The singer was known to her fans as being a champion of the body positivity movement, which has led to some fans having a negative reaction to her massive weight loss. She had originally denied using Ozempic and said her noticeable body change was due to a “calorie deficit.”
Lizzo addressed some of the backlash in a May 2023 TikTok video.
“Once I started working out for mental health, to have balanced mental health or endorphins, so that I don&#8217;t look at myself in the mirror and feel ashamed of myself, and feel disgusted with myself, exercise has helped me shift my mind, not my body,&#8221; she said at the time, per <a href="https://people.com/inside-lizzo-weight-loss-journey-11713689">People</a>. &#8220;My body is gonna change, everyone&#8217;s bodies change. That&#8217;s life.&#8221;

Lizzo announced she’s been picked to play rock-and-roll pioneer Sister Rosetta Tharpe when she makes her lead acting debut in a new biopic about the gospel singer.
In a post on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DHlw_1rP0-0/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Instagram</a>, the 36-year-old singer/rapper &#8212; born Melissa Jefferson &#8212; said she was excited to finally be able to share the role she landed in Amazon’s MGM Studios&#8217; film, titled “Rosetta.”

For the part, the four-time Grammy award winner will take on the role of the gospel singer who is credited with being one of the first artists to appeal to both rock n’ roll and R&amp;B audiences, <a href="https://deadline.com/2025/03/lizzo-rosetta-amazon-mgm-studio-1236347889/">Deadline</a> noted.
Gaining popularity in the 1930s and 1940s, Tharpe’s work with the electric guitar and spiritual lyrics got her the title of “Godmother of rock and roll,” the outlet noted.
Natalie Chaidez (&#8220;The Flight Attendant,&#8221; &#8220;Queen of the South&#8221;) and Kwynn Perry (&#8220;Tigerbelles,&#8221; &#8220;The Burned Photo&#8221;) are writing the screenplay. Producers on the project include Lizzo, Kevin Beisler, and Significant Productions’ Nina Yang Bongiovi and Forest Whitaker, the outlet added.

Lizzo recently took to social media and wrote a series of <a href="https://x.com/lizzo">posts</a> claiming poor treatment of famous black rockstars, ahead of the news on Monday about her movie.
“I think seeing and hearing a black woman make real music with radical joy triggers miserable people… but I follow in the footsteps of Janet, of Funkadelic, of Earth Wind and Fire… nobody’s doing it like me for Us,” the rapper <a href="https://x.com/lizzo/status/1901752174323155058">wrote</a>. &#8220;And I stand on that.”
“Aretha [Franklin] &amp; Whitney [Houston] got backlash for being ‘too pop’ and they kept going… and so will I,” she added. “I’m out here reclaiming rock n roll for US…”
“The way this world treats black women is sickening… blacklisted Janet and now 20yrs later y&#8217;all calling her music ‘cute black girl bops’ &amp; giving her flowers… Dogged Whitney for her love life &amp; called her a drug addict for laughs but now y’all wanna honor her,” Lizzo continued. “Y’all laughed at Tina’s abuse and never let her forget… The least protected person in America…”
In August 2024, Lizzo said she was that taking a hiatus from the limelight after multiple <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lawsuit">lawsuits</a> were filed against her starting in 2023 by former employees, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/lizzo-said-shes-taking-a-gap-year-following-harassment-lawsuit-drama">reported</a>.

“I’m taking a gap year &amp; protecting my peace,” she captioned a video clip of herself standing in the rain while closing her eyes. Lizzo shared three other posts to Instagram over the weekend, telling followers she was in Bali. “Unfortunately I’ll be posting way too many bikini pics,” she wrote in another update.

I’m definitely not all the way as carefree as I used to be. But the dark cloud that followed me every day is finally clearing up. My smile reaches my eyes again and that’s a win.”
This update came two months after she called out followers for criticizing her.
“I’m getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the Internet,” Lizzo said in March. “All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it. But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it.”
The celeb <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/C5HVa0hS-VD/">said</a>, “I’m constantly up against lies being told about me for clout &amp; views… being the butt of the joke every single time because of how I look… my character being picked apart by people who don’t know me and disrespecting my name. Shortly after, she confirmed that she wasn’t quitting music forever, but was rather leaving behind “negative energy.” 
“I just need to clarify — when I say I quit, I mean, I quit giving any negative energy attention,” she said. “What I’m not gonna quit is the joy of my life, which is making music, which is connecting with people. I know I’m not alone. In no way, shape or form am I the only person who is experiencing that negative voice that seems to be louder than the positive … I’m going to keep moving forward, I’m going to keep being me.”

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lizzo">Lizzo</a> filmed herself watching an episode of “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/south-park">South Park</a>” which referenced her as being the antithesis of weight loss drugs.
The 36-year-old singer, who has made herself a poster child for the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/body-positivity">body positivity</a> movement, shared a “blind duet” reaction to her inclusion on the show. “Guys, my worst fear has been actualized. I’ve been referenced in a South Park episode,” she began in a TikTok video posted on Sunday.
The episode focused on the popularity of semaglutide drugs like <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ozempic">Ozempic</a> and Monjaro for weight loss. “South Park: The End of Obesity” debuted on May 24.

&#8220;I’m so scared,” she said as the clip started playing.
In the episode, Sharon and Sheila, moms of characters Stan and Kyle, are discussing using weight loss drugs. Sharon says her doctor would not prescribe her medication like Ozempic because she doesn’t have diabetes. Sheila responded by asking how she’s managing her weight if she’s not using those drugs.
“Don’t you know, Sheila?&#8221; Sharon says. &#8220;Now, there’s a whole new obesity drug for those of us who can’t afford Ozempic and Mounjaro.&#8221;
“I controlled all my cravings to be thinner with Lizzo,&#8221; she says, at which point Lizzo makes a surprised face while reacting to the clip.
A commercial for the fictional drug Lizzo starts playing, including a parody of the song from the Ozempic commercial. Sharon makes it clear that the drug doesn’t do anything besides make the user not care about being overweight. 
The faux commercial says Lizzo “makes you feel good about your weight — and it costs 90% less than Ozempic.”
“I’ve lowered my standards and my expectations,” Sharon says, while the real Lizzo continues reacting with shock at the bit.

“70% of patients on Lizzo no longer care how much they weigh,” the fake drug commercial narrator continues. The ad also warns about listening to Lizzo’s music, causing her to say, “Not the f***ing album!” as the commercial cuts to an image of someone bleeding from the ears after listening to her songs. 
The commercial concludes with Sharon saying, “Ask about the power of not giving a f*** with Lizzo.”
&#8220;I really showed the world how to love yourself and not give a f*** to the point where these men in Colorado know who the f*** I am, and put it on their cartoon that’s been around for 25 years,” Lizzo said in conclusion as part of her reaction.
“And I’m gonna keep on showing you how to not give a f***,” she added.

In a video on Tuesday on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/C5RWyNRvD91/">Instagram</a>, the 35-year-old singer — born Melissa Viviane Jefferson —said she was making the post because she just needed to clarify: &#8220;When I say &#8216;I quit,&#8217; I mean I quit giving any negative energy attention.&#8221;
&#8220;What I&#8217;m not going to quit is the joy of my life, which is making music and connecting to people,&#8221; Lizzo told her followers. &#8220;And I know I&#8217;m not alone. In no way shape or form am I the only person experiencing that negative voice that&#8217;s louder than the positive.&#8221;
&#8220;If I can just give one person the inspiration or motivation to stand up for themselves and say they quit letting negative people, negative comments win then I&#8217;ve done even more than could&#8217;ve hoped for,&#8221; the singer continued. &#8220;I&#8217;m going to keep moving forward and keep being me.&#8221;

The lawyer for some of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lizzo">Lizzo</a>’s former employees has publicly responded to the singer’s recent declaration that she is quitting the music industry.
Attorney Ron Zambrano is representing several individuals who accused Lizzo of harassment and are seeking damages. The Los Angeles-based lawyer claims the “About Damn Time” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">singer&#8217;s</a> announcement was just a cry for &#8220;attention.&#8221;
“It’s a joke that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Lizzo</a> would say she is being bullied by the internet when she should instead be taking an honest look at herself,” Zambrano wrote in the statement, per <a href="https://www.billboard.com/music/music-news/lawyer-lizzo-dancers-calls-i-quit-post-1235646723/">Billboard</a>. 
“Her latest post is just another outburst seeking attention and trying to deflect from her own failings as she continues to blame everyone else for the predicament she is in. Lizzo’s legal and public relations strategy is a failure, so she is desperately trying to play the victim,” he continued. “She has thrown these childish tantrums before. No one actually believes she is quitting music. But she should quit sexually harassing, shaming and bullying her employees and finally accept responsibility for her actions.”
The attorney went on, writing, “She can make all of this go away simply by seizing the opportunity here to set an example, own up to her mistakes, pay what’s due to those she’s wronged and work on becoming a better person. Celebrity toxicity is poisoning the entertainment industry with Diddy and Dan Schneider being the latest examples, and Lizzo’s conduct will not be tolerated, either. There is no more safe place in society for this sort of behavior as the entire industry is in for a reckoning for permitting such vile treatment of employees in the workplace.”

We would humbly recommend that Ron start representing his clients and stop representing just himself,” he said on his client’s behalf.

‘I QUIT’: Lizzo Signals She’s Done Because She’s ‘The Butt Of The Joke Every Single Time’

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lizzo">Lizzo&#8217;s</a> attorneys have filed a motion to dismiss a harassment and discrimination <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lawsuit">lawsuit</a> brought by a former employee.
The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">singer</a>’s lawyers requested the dismissal on Friday, per court documents obtained by <a href="https://people.com/lizzo-requests-to-dismiss-designers-harassment-lawsuit-8417614">People</a>. The documents claim that the case filed on behalf of Asha Daniels is “meritless and salacious,” the outlet noted.
The dismissal request further accused Daniels of “abandoning her post” by skipping a concert she was scheduled to work at in Paris. The document claims Daniels, who was employed as a wardrobe stylist, did not fulfill her employment obligations as she &#8220;failed to perform the work that she was assigned and, eventually, just played hooky and refused to show up for work.&#8221;
Lizzo’s attorneys also said the harassment case should be tossed on a technicality because Daniels &#8220;is a New York resident who worked for a Delaware corporation while the singer was touring in Europe.&#8221; This would mean she &#8220;has alleged no nexus to California,” which is where the original suit was filed.
Daniels&#8217; attorney, Ron Zambrano, said in a statement that the motion to dismiss was &#8220;another Hail Mary by Lizzo’s team to try to shift blame to the victims, as she has done to the three other plaintiffs who have sued her for similar allegations of harassment, disability discrimination and retaliatory termination.&#8221;
&#8220;Lizzo and her lawyers can continue trying to rationalize her illegal and wretched conduct but we remain committed to seeking justice for our clients, and look forward to our day in court where Lizzo can explain her behavior in a public forum,&#8221; he continued.

Daniels filed the lawsuit in September, claiming that she was the victim of a “racist and sexualized environment” while working for Lizzo. The suit also named Lizzo’s production manager, tour manager, and makeup artist in the document.
“I felt like I was living in a madhouse. It was totally shocking,” Daniels <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/celebrity/lizzo-sued-sexual-harassment-lawsuit-racial-discrimination-tour-rcna105930">told</a> NBC News of her alleged experience. “I was listening to this black woman on this huge stage have this message of self-love and caring for others and being empathetic and being strong and standing up for others. And I was witnessing myself, the dancers and the background vocalists and my local team in every city be harassed and bullied regularly.”
The Grammy Award-winning singer has multiple pending lawsuits. Three of her former backup dancers, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez, also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/lizzo-responds-to-outrageous-lawsuit-alleging-sexual-harassment-body-shaming">accused Lizzo of harassment</a> and body-shaming during their employment with her. 
The 35-year-old singer, whose real name is Melissa Jefferson, has denied wrongdoing in both cases.

Lizzo is just one example of an increasingly common phenomenon: high-profile employers facing media scandals and expensive litigation due to toxic workplace allegations.
According to recent reports, pop star Lizzo has been dropped from the shortlist of performers being considered for the Super Bowl halftime show. This is the latest public setback for the embattled star, who was recently sued by three former dancers alleging that her company created a hostile work environment of weight-shaming, sexual harassment, extreme stress, and other problems. The resulting media coverage presented a damning story to the public, and Lizzo&#8217;s online streams and downloads plummeted dramatically while her image transformed overnight.
However, as is common in many of these situations, the lawsuit generating such breathless negative media coverage is itself quite weak. The suit is rife with questionable assumptions and leaps of logic. The most publicly damaging allegations — such as those of weight shaming lack any substantiation whatsoever. At times the lawsuit reads like the diary of a person afflicted by paranoia. Perhaps this is why Lizzo and her team confronted the main claimant about her mental health at one point, as the lawsuit alleges.
Yet the flawed nature of the lawsuit has not prevented it from causing tremendous damage to Lizzo&#8217;s image. Almost no one will actually read the lawsuit or read it with a critical eye, as the claimants and their attorneys well know, but bad headlines generated by the lawsuit are the real objective anyway. Those headlines can force an employer to the settlement table, no matter the facts: many of these suits are blatant money grabs aimed at easy settlements.
Toxic workplace allegations are becoming increasingly common, particularly in situations with high-profile targets and heavy media attention. Often these allegations entail lawsuits, but in many cases, damaging media coverage is the goal of disgruntled ex-employees. 
Recently, talk show host and pop star Kelly Clarkson was accused by multiple anonymous employees in a hit piece by Rolling Stone. According to her accusers, her highly rated “The Kelly Clarkson Show” is run by overly demanding producers who don&#8217;t pay lower-level staff what they believe they should make. Similar allegations dogged the canceled HBO Max shows “Lovecraft Country” and “The Other Two,” while the Woody Harrelson series “The White House Plumbers” officially paused production to deal with workplace toxicity claims. In another arena, famous celebrity chef and restauranteur Barbara Lynch found herself besieged in the press recently over her supposedly toxic managerial style.
If you find such claims highly subjective, you are correct. In fact, the problem with many of these toxic workplace scandals is their basis on the claimant&#8217;s subjective perception and understanding of events. Whereas the bar for establishing a toxic workplace claim was once quite high, it has now become unnecessary to prove anything at all to launch a negative media campaign, damage the target&#8217;s reputation, or even cancel the target altogether.
In hindsight, Ellen DeGeneres may have been the canary in the coal mine. In 2020, the media gleefully disseminated and amplified the claims of anonymous ex-employees who complained about the high-stress environment on “The Ellen Show.” A number of these overwrought allegations bordered on the comical, and one might wonder how much of this much ado about nothing is the result of a discordance between generational worldviews: one can detect in many of these allegations a particular whine indicative of a younger, self-entitled perspective. At any rate, despite any proof of actual misconduct, “The Ellen Show” was canceled within months.

If it feels as if we have been down this road before, perhaps that is because the new #ToxicWork movement feels similar to #MeToo in a number of concerning respects. Both movements contain threads of well-intentioned sentiment but are all too often weaponized to settle personal grievances, generate media coverage, and make money. And just as heavily publicized #MeToo claims often rely less on legitimate evidence of wrongdoing and more on subjective &#8220;she-said&#8221; accounts, so too do many allegations of workplace toxicity presented in the media and in high-profile civil litigation. In far too many situations, the truth doesn&#8217;t matter and it certainly doesn&#8217;t outweigh the power of dramatic, attention-grabbing misconduct headlines. And of course, the reputational and professional damage done is generally irreparable even if the claims can be legally invalidated.
Perhaps we would do well to take a lesson from #MeToo&#8217;s failures all too clearly illustrated in the hoax against Johnny Depp exposed last year in court and reserve judgment on toxic workplace allegations until such claims have been proved in court. A successful career takes decades to build but only hours to destroy in our current cancel culture.

Singer Grimes came out publicly in support of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lizzo">Lizzo</a> as she faces a sexual harassment <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lawsuit">lawsuit</a> brought against her by three former backup dancers.
<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Grimes</a> shared on X, formerly Twitter, that she&#8217;s had nothing but positive experiences with Lizzo for years. “I love Lizzo. Not saying I don’t believe ppl when bad things happen, but I had dancers mistreated on my watch in ways I didn’t find out about until way later. Mebe sh** is bad,” the 35-year-old pop singer wrote on social media.
“But loyalty matters to me. Lizzo was kind to me and others for a decade before she was ‘cool,’ and she checked in on me when no one cared. I’ve only ever seen exemplary behavior from her, especially when everyone was hating on me and she was on top of the world. There was no reason for her to check in, besides to be a good person. Just my two cents.”
“I recall when she first blew up being so happy because I’d never known such an admirable person to find fame in the music industry. I struggle to believe she would have so radically changed tired of a culture that seeks to destroy it’s greatest virtues. Lizzo is amazing,” Grimes added.

On August 1, dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez filed a lawsuit against Lizzo and Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc. that included accusations of body-shaming, racial and religious discrimination, and being pressured to interact with nude dancers during a live sex show.

Lizzo issued a statement in response to the accusations.
“Usually I choose not to respond to false allegations but these are as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous to not be addressed,” the rapper <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/lizzo-responds-to-outrageous-lawsuit-alleging-sexual-harassment-body-shaming">wrote</a>. “These sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional.”
“I am very open with my sexuality and expressing myself but I cannot accept or allow people to use that openness to make me out to be something I am not,” Lizzo continued. “There is nothing I take more seriously than the respect we deserve as women in the world. I know what it feels like to be body shamed on a daily basis and would absolutely never criticize or terminate an employee because of their weight.”
&#8220;I’m hurt but I will not let the good work I’ve done in the world be overshadowed by this,&#8221; she said in conclusion. &#8220;I want to thank everyone who has reached out in support to lift me up during this difficult time.&#8221;
