LISTEN: Charles Barkley SMACKS NBA Player For ‘Asinine’ Slavery Comparison

On Thursday, NBA legend Charles Barkley smacked Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green for making a slavery comparison regarding New York Knicks owner James Dolan and former Knicks player Charles Oakley.

During a Wednesday podcast, Green accused Dolan of having a “slave master mentality” toward Oakley for offering criticism of his former player’s antics now that he no longer plays for the Knicks.

“You’re doing it for me, it’s all good,” started Green. “But now you’re doing it against me, or you’re speaking out against my organization, it’s not good anymore? That’s a slave mentality — slave master mentality. That’s ridiculous. It was all fine and dandy when he was laying people out, taking fines and all this stuff for your organization. But now all of a sudden when he says something that he feels, it’s a problem.”

Justifiably, Barkley blasted the remarks as “asinine and stupid.”

“That is just stupid,” said Barkley, speaking on an Atlanta-based radio station. “I don’t think you ever use basketball analogies to compare to slavery when guys are making $20 million, $30 million a year. I just think that’s just stupid.”

The former NBA star, who often offers his rational voice to contentious issues, added: “To compare guys making $20 million, $30 million to slaves is just asinine and stupid.”

In November, Barkley, who did not vote for Donald Trump, countered the Post-Election Hysteria from the left with an important call for all Americans to “respect the office” and give the new president-elect a “chance.”

“I was totally surprised at the election results,” said the hoops star. “That being said, we’ve got to move on. I was disappointed because my candidate didn’t win, number one. But like I said, it’s over now. He’s going to be the president of the United States. We’ve got to respect the office, and we have to give him a chance. That’s the bottom line.”
