Elvis and Priscilla Presley’s only child, Lisa Marie, became a grandmother just before she died, the late star’s family revealed during her memorial on Sunday at Graceland.

Presley’s daughter Riley Keough’s husband, Ben Smith-Petersen, shared the news at the public memorial as the family gathered together at Elvis’ former home in Memphis, Tennessee, to say goodbye to the star, People magazine reported. Lisa Marie suffered a cardiac arrest at her California home on January 12 and died. She was 54.

“I hope I can love my daughter the way you loved me, the way you loved my brother and my sisters,” Smith-Petersen shared while he read a tribute to Presley on behalf of his wife Keough.

“Thank you for giving me strength, my heart, my empathy, my courage, my sense of humor, my manners, my temper, my wildness, my tenacity,” the tribute added. “I’m a product of your heart, my sisters are a product of your heart, my brother is a product of your heart.”

Riley and Ben tied the knot in 2015. A rep for Keough shared with the outlet that the couple welcomed a little girl to the world in 2022, with no other details about the birth revealed.

Presley was buried at Graceland next to her late son, Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide in 2020. Elvis, the King of Rock and Roll, is also buried at Graceland, along with his parents and grandmother, People magazine noted.

Lisa Marie, the only daughter of Elvis and Priscilla, was the sole inheritor of Graceland. At 9 years old, she was given the estate in a trust that was officially dissolved when she turned 25, according to the Graceland website. In 1993, she gained total ownership of the mansion.

Following her death, the property will go to Lisa Marie’s surviving children from her four marriages, Riley, whom she shared with ex-husband and musician Danny Keough, and the late star’s twin daughters Harper and Finley, from her marriage to ex-husband and guitarist Michael Lockwood.

“The mansion is in a trust that will go to the benefit of her [Presley’s] children,” a spokesperson for Graceland told WMC.

Priscilla Presley confirmed her daughter’s death on January 12 hours after she was rushed to a hospital.

“My beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” a statement from the actress read. “She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”
