On Tuesday, Mean Girls actress Lindsay Lohan told Good Morning Britain hosts that she was “racially profiled” by TSA while wearing an Islamic headscarf at the Heathrow Airport in London.
An airport worker “opened my passport and saw ‘Lindsay Lohan’ and started immediately apologizing, but then said: ‘Please take off your headscarf,'” claims Lohan.
The 30-year-old added that the incident made her consider “how would another woman who doesn’t feel comfortable taking off her headscarf feel.”
The actress, who has been pictured holding a Koran and recently rumored to be a Muslim convert, was leaving Turkey and headed to her New York City home. Lohan recently met with Turkish President Erdogan to discuss the plight of Syrian refugees–because only in 2017 does the renowned Parent Trap star known for flashing her genitals to the paparazzi meet with the Turkish president to talk humanitarian issues.
Lohan said she was wearing the headscarf at the airport out of “personal respect” for the Syrian woman who gave it to her while visiting in Turkey.
“When the woman put that headscarf on me, I felt really honoured because she went out of her own way to allow me to be a part of my own culture and she didn’t have to do that,” said Lohan.
“I said I really liked the colour of her headscarf and she gave it to me, and maybe she had two and she gave me one—there’s more in the story that occurred,” the actress continued.
“Because this woman took the time to give me this, and a part of herself, not even knowing me, I’m not taking it off,” concluded Lohan.
Rumors have been flying over the former party girl’s alleged conversion to Islam. Last month, the 30-year-old stripped her Instagram account of all posts before adding an “Alaikum salam” caption, which is Arabic for “peace be with you.”
Lohan’s mother Dina has denied the rumors.
