Kylie Jenner issued a response to social media followers accusing her of posting photos of her son to deflect attention from the Balenciaga scandal and the Kardashians’ connection to the company.
Kylie, 25, is well known for being very private about sharing photos of her two children. She’s been especially reluctant to post images of her 9-month-old son Wolf, whom she shares with rapper Travis Scott. That’s why fans were immediately skeptical when the influencer posted several photos on her Instagram account while the Kardashian clan was being slammed for refusing to cut ties with Balenciaga.
The child’s face is still hidden and Jenner hasn’t yet revealed his new name after confirming on “The Kardashians” that she would change it from Wolf to something else. But fans claim this small reveal is all part of the plan. “Kris said… the name, face reveal will be too obvious. Here are some crumbs,” one person commented, insinuating that family matriarch Kris Jenner requested the posts.
“Kim gets blast for Balenciaga so Kylie is gonna reveal her baby so we can deflect,” another comment said.
“Balenciaga distraction. Kris is genius,” a third person agreed.
But Kylie claims these fans are incorrect. The makeup brand founder reacted to a popular video on social media that included the accusations. The video had text that read, “I guess we finally gonna find out the name of Kylie’s son” and “Kris Jenner telling her kids to release the good photos after the Balenciaga Scandal.”
Kylie herself responded by saying, “Uh whyyyyy would I post my child to cover up for [B]alenciaga? This is why I don’t do this. Always something to say.”
Meanwhile, Kim issued a public statement a week after the Balenciaga saga started making headlines, but many fans were displeased that she didn’t commit to cutting ties with the fashion brand.
“As a mother of four, I have been shaken by the disturbing images. The safety of children must be held with the highest regard and any attempts to normalize child abuse of any kind should have no place in our society — period,” Kim shared in a statement.
“I appreciate Balenciaga’s removal of the campaigns and apology. In speaking with them, I believe they understand the seriousness of the issue and will take the necessary measures for this to never happen again.”
She went on to confirm that she’s “re-evaluating” her relationship with the brand, which many followers believe isn’t a strong enough response.
“The most disturbing thing about this Balenciaga thing is Kim kardashian is one of the richest women in the world, could easily cut ties with them and make a huge stand but she won’t,” one reply said.
Another person agreed, writing, “Balenciaga ‘sorry we sexualized kids’ Kim k ‘all good.’”
