Amid reports that she was poised to leave the network to join her boyfriend Donald Trump Jr. on the campaign trail, Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle made it official Tuesday morning.
In a “bitter-sweet” announcement on social media, the host said she is leaving FNC to take on the role of Vice Chairwoman of the pro-Trump PAC America First.
“Today I have a bitter-sweet announcement. I’ve decided to leave Fox News Channel and dedicate myself full time to joining America First as Vice Chairwoman, campaigning across the country and firmly standing with President Trump,” she wrote in a series of tweets. “I will miss my Fox family. I thank Fox for the opportunities it has provided me. I thank all the talented producers, staff, and above all I thank the best fans out there.”
When the rumors first surfaced, a spokesman for Donald Jr. said that having Guilfoyle on the campaign trail would be a big “win for the entire GOP.”
“Having Kimberley Guilfoyle on the trail campaigning with Donald Trump Jr. for Republicans this fall is a win for the entire GOP,” said the spokesman. “Kim is one of the most influential voices in the #MAGA movement and knows how to light up a crowd.”
Guilfoyle and the first son began dating earlier this year. A source told Page Six back in May that the two had been seeing each other for “a few weeks.”
“Don Jr. and Kimberly are seeing each other, and are having a great time. While he wants to respect the privacy of his family, he is getting divorced, and he enjoys Kimberly’s company,” the source said.
