Actress Kim Basinger was reportedly mortified by the fact that her daughter Ireland Baldwin’s baby shower took place at a strip club.
According to Baldwin, whose father is actor Alec Baldwin, the “L.A. Confidential” actress came to the party at Jumbo’s Clown Room in March, but appeared uncomfortable and — after ordering “a pino grigio at the bar with ice” — spent most of her time off to the side.
Baldwin described the scene during a Tuesday appearance on Emily Ratajkoswki’s podcast, “High Low with EmRata,” noting that at one point, her mother had thrown a wadded-up dollar bill because she apparently wasn’t sure what else to do.
“She was totally mortified,” Baldwin said, adding, “She watched me and my boyfriend get lap dances from eight strippers on the stage, and I think she was just like, ‘What is happening right now?’”
“She didn’t even know what to do with the money,” Baldwin alleged, adding, “She threw a crumpled dollar bill as fast and as hard as she could … because she was so scared.”
Baldwin said that her father had not been present at the party, nor had some Christian family members who she explained had not been invited because they might not have approved of the event’s venue or theme.
Basinger, 69, and Baldwin, 65, were married for nearly two decades before they divorced in 2002, welcoming daughter Ireland in 1995. Baldwin later remarried Hilaria Baldwin, and the two share six more children.

Baldwin recently made headlines when the charges against him — related to the on-set shooting on his film “Rust” that left cinematographer Halyna Hutchins dead — were dropped. The shooting occurred when a gun Baldwin was holding — pointed at Hutchins — discharged. Despite Baldwin’s repeated claims that he never pulled the trigger, later investigation suggested that the gun could not have possibly fired unless he did so.
