"I am proud to have earned the support of the vast majority of delegates, and to have been elected the Democratic nominee," Harris said.

Vice President Kamala Harris dodged questions during an interview that aired this week when confronted over her complete reversal on nearly every major policy position she held during her failed presidential bid just a few years ago.

Harris dodged the questions — and claimed that she legitimately was elected as the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee, despite not having earned a single vote from primary voters — during a CBS News “60 Minutes” interview that aired Monday night.

“I take it seriously that I have to earn everyone’s vote,” she said. “This is an election for president of the United States.”

“No one should be able to take for granted that they can just declare themselves a candidate and automatically receive support,” she continued. “You have to earn it. And that’s what I intend to do.”

Host Bill Whitaker then confronted her over just a few of the numerous positions that she flipped on.

“You have changed your position on so many things,” he said. “You were against fracking, now you’re for it. You supported looser immigration policies, now you’re tightening them up. You were for Medicare for all, now you’re not. So many that people don’t truly know what you believe or what you stand for.”

Harris responded by saying that she has traveled the country over the last four years and listened to the voters and that her approach has been to “find common-sense solutions” and to “build consensus.”

During a different portion of the interview, she suggested that her election as the party’s nominee was a legitimate process after President Joe Biden was forced out by the Democratic Party in mid-July following a disastrous debate against former President Donald Trump in late June.

“I am proud to have earned the support of the vast majority of delegates, and to have been elected the Democratic nominee,” Harris said. “I am honored to have received the endorsement of leaders around this country from every background and walk of life, to fight in this election over the next month for our democracy.”
