“Morning Joe” regular Katty Kay conceded on Friday that Vice President Kamala Harris does not poll well with men — across a number of demographics — and she suggested a possible solution the campaign might implement in order to bridge that gap.
Kay argued that Harris’ campaign — which has not been terribly forthcoming with regard to answering questions from the press or outlining actual policies that were likely to be implemented in a Harris administration — could have her husband, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, and her running mate, Governor Tim Walz (D-MN), do more from the campaign trail.

“Either the concern or the upside, depending on how you look at this from the Harris campaign’s point of view, is that Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin people think will break the same way,” she said of Harris’ focus in the swing states. “That’s what they’ve done traditionally ever since 1980, I think there’s one exception, so if they lose Pennsylvania, what would that then mean for Wisconsin and Michigan? If they win Wisconsin and Michigan, does that then mean they’re going to win Pennsylvania?”
Kay then pointed out that the major problem facing the Harris campaign was “men.”
“But it’s men, I think the real struggle for the Harris campaign, is young men, old men, men of color, white men — and they are doing all they can, you can see – I think we’ll see the debate next week will be really interesting to see how Tim Walz reaches out to that group. Doug Emhoff … he is making a concerted effort in his own way to reach out to that group. They know that’s where they — they know that’s where they have a weakness.”
“No self-respecting man buys Tim Walz’s schmalzy Midwest Dad schtick. Mr Stolen Valor is as phony as his boss and even weirder. (Who gets married on the anniversary of a massacre? The Manchurian candidate.)” Miranda Devine commented via X.

Gates McGavick added, “‘Guys, male voters aren’t buying our campaign’/ ‘All good. Get Walz on stage and have him wave like a maniac on speed.'”

“Hard to believe that a political party built around demonizing men is having trouble with male voters of all ages, colors, ethnicities, etc,” William Jacobson responded in a post to X.
