WILMINGTON, DE - NOVEMBER 24:  Vice President-elect Kamala Harris speaks after President-elect Joe Biden introduced key foreign policy and national security nominees and appointments at the Queen Theatre on November 24, 2020 in Wilmington, Delaware. As President-elect Biden waits to receive official national security briefings, he is announcing the names of top members of his national security team to the public. Calls continue for President Trump to concede the election as the transition proceeds.

After her interview with NBC News’ Craig Melvin in which her unutterable grasp of speaking inarticulately was eloquently displayed, Vice President Kamala Harris was lacerated by conservatives on social media, even asking point-blank how she had reached her vaunted position despite a seeming paucity of speaking skills.

Some examples of Harris’ slippery grasp of rhetoric: Melvin asked, “At what point does the administration say, ‘You know what? This strategy isn’t working. We’re going to change strategies.’ … Six former administration officials last week wrote that letter urging the administration to change course, to change strategy. Is it time?”

Harris bloviated, “It is time for us to do what we have been doing and that time is every day. Every day it is time for us to agree that there are things and tools that are available to us to slow this thing down.”

Contending against Republicans who opined that President Biden’s speech in Atlanta on voting rights was “divisive,” she said loftily, “If you want to figure out how to get across town to find some restaurant you heard is great, you usually ‘do Google’ to figure out where it is. … So that’s simply about giving people, right, a mechanism by which they can locate something that they need, something that can help them.”

Answering the question of whether Americans would see the same Democratic ticket in 2024, she managed, “I’m sorry; we are thinking about today; I mean, honestly, I know why you’re asking the question because this is part of the punditry and the gossip around places like Washington D.C.”

Mercedes Schlapp: “It’s like watching a bad audition tape for VEEP that the creators of the show rejected and a good reminder of why Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign never even made it to Iowa.”

Dana Loesch: “She sounds like Greg Focker saying a prayer.”

Ben Shapiro: “She is Michael Scott, only not likable or sympathetic. Every interview is a ‘the dog ate my homework’ interview for Kamala Harris. ‘It is time for us to do what we have been doing and that time is every day.’ This is one of the greatest lines I have ever heard from any politician. Truly.”

Michael Knowles: “How has this woman made it so far in politics being such a terrible communicator?”

Jesse Kelly: “She has a very particular set of skills.”

Harris also told Melvin when he asked when the 500 million rapid tests for COVID were going out, “I have to look at the current information; I think it’s going to be by next week.”

Later, Melvin acknowledged, “The reality is we’ve spoken to a number of companies that actually manufacture these tests, they have led NBC News to believe that would be a lofty goal. It is going to take some time to manufacture some 500 million tests, especially when you look at the empty store shelves right now. You’ve seen the long lines where folks are waiting for tests …”
