White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt described injunctions on President Donald Trump’s executive orders as “the continuation of the weaponization of justice” during Wednesday’s press briefing.

Leavitt addressed media reports suggesting that Trump is overstepping his authority and putting the United States in danger of a constitutional crisis, arguing that this is an “extremely dishonest narrative” and that the media are”fear-mongering” on this topic.

“The real constitutional crisis is taking place within our judicial branch, where district court judges and liberal districts across the country are abusing their power to unilaterally block President Trump’s basic executive authority,” she explained, referring to injunctions on Trump’s spending freeze and his executive order on birthright citizenship.

Pressed by The Daily Wire, Leavitt said that the White House believes “that the injunctions that have been issued by these judges have no basis in the law and have no grounds.”

“We will again, as the president said very clearly yesterday, comply with these orders, but it is the administration’s position that we will ultimately be vindicated, and the president’s executive actions that he took were completely within the law, they were constitutional, and we look forward to the day whereimj he can continue to implement his agenda,” she told The Daily Wire.

She added: “I would just add that it’s our view that this is the continuation of the weaponization of justice that we have seen against President Trump. He fought it for two years on the campaign trail — it won’t stop him now.”

Trump also addressed some of these injunctions speaking from the Oval Office Tuesday, arguing that judges were trying to put a stop to his agenda: “We want to weed out the corruption, and it seems hard to believe that a judge could say, ‘we don’t want you to do that.’ So maybe we have to look at the judges, because that’s very serious. I think it’s a very serious violation.”
