Actor Johnny Depp suggested during testimony on Wednesday that his ex-wife, actress Amber Heard, tried to pin a fake bloody nose on him by using a tissue and nail polish.
Depp is suing Heard for more than $50 million for defamation he claims hurt his Hollywood career.
The “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor told the court Heard attacked him and then pretended it was Depp who had broken her nose, Fox News detailed.
“During the struggle, their heads connected, he said, but he never made contact with her face,” the report said. “She left the room and returned a few minutes later clutching a tissue to her nose that had a red substance on it. ‘Way to go, Johnny, you broke my nose,’ he recalled her saying.”
A skeptical Depp said he went into the bathroom after their fight to retrieve the tissue that apparently had blood on it, but found the red substance to be nail polish.
“I pulled the Kleenex out of the trash bin, and I inspected it pretty closely and realized it was nail polish, nail varnish,” he told the court.

On the same day in court, audio revealed Heard admitting to “hitting” Depp and calling the actor a “f***ing baby.”
“I didn’t punch you, by the way,” Heard said in the provided audio. “I’m sorry that I didn’t hit you across the face in a proper slap. But, I was hitting you. It was not punching you.”
Depp is heard on the audio replying, “Don’t tell me what it feels like to be punched.”
“You’ve been in a lot of fights, you’ve been around a long time,” Heard said. “You didn’t get punched. You got hit. I’m sorry I hit you like this, but I did not punch you. I did not f***ing deck you. I f***ing was hitting you. I don’t know what the motion of my actual hand was.”
“But you’re fine,” the actress told Depp. “I did not hurt you, I did not punch you, I was hitting you.”
“I’m not sitting here b****ing about, am I? You are. That’s the difference between me and you. You’re a f***ing baby,” she added. “You are such a baby! Grow the f*** up, Johnny.”
“I did start a physical fight,” Heard admitted, before Depp explained why he had to get “the f*** out of there.”
“Yes, you did. You did the right thing, the big thing. You were admirable,” Heard responded.
Heard is countersuing Depp for $100 million in damages, accusing her ex’s legal team of making false claims about her.
