John Stamos admitted he was “angry” when he first learned that “Full House” stars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen weren’t coming back for the Netflix reboot series, “Fuller House,” in 2016.

During the 59-year-old actor’s recent appearance on Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz’s “And That’s What You REALLY Missed” podcast, Stamos — who played Jesse Katsopolis on the show — talked about how he had reconnected with the Olsen twins after co-star Bob Saget’s death in January 2022, Yahoo.com reported.

“When the twins moved to New York… we didn’t really see them much,” Stamos said. “I mean, we stayed in touch a little bit, but Bob [Saget] really did. You hear rumors — ‘Oh, they hated their childhood,’ or ‘they hated being on the show’ or whatever. When I did ‘Fuller House,’ they didn’t want to come back and I was angry for a minute and that got out.”

“But they said, ‘We loved our childhood. We loved being with you. We miss Bob,'” he added of reuniting with them.

Stamos even revealed that the twins, who shared the role of Michelle Tanner on the popular ABC show, visited his home and “brought a pork chop and sage. I don’t know why, but thank you? It was a frozen pork chop, so that was really nice. So we stayed very close.”

“Full House” ran from 1987-1995 with the Olsen twins playing Michelle for the entirety of its eight-season run alongside Stamos, actress Candace Cameron Bure, and Saget, who played Danny Tanner. “Fuller House” ran from 2016-2020.

The “ER” star recently revealed that he got the twins fired after the toddlers were crying so much during the filming of the first episode of the series.

“So, we’re carrying the baby downstairs and we take her in the kitchen and we hose her down. And she was screaming. Both of them,” Stamos said. “They wanted to be anywhere else but there, and so did I.”

“They were 11 months old, and God bless them. They kept switching: ‘This one’s not gonna cry,'” he added. “I couldn’t deal with it. And I said, ‘This is not gonna work.’ And so they got rid of them. They bring on these two redheaded kids… I’m sure their parents loved them and thought they were attractive…”

“It was only a few days, and I said, ‘Bring the Olsens back! These kids are terrible,'” Stamos continued.

Saget died on January 9, 2022, from head trauma. He was found dead in his hotel room in Orlando, and his death was ruled an accident.
