Podcast host Joe Rogan revealed the fear he voiced to President Donald Trump ahead of the UFC Freedom 250 fight night at the White House — and what the president said to him in return.

Rogan, speaking with UFC fighter Justin Gaethje and MMA trainer Trevor Wittman, discussed his concerns ahead of fight night about how vulnerable they could be to an attack — particularly because Trump had been targeted so many times in the past.

WATCH:

“I was honestly really nervous, Joe,” Wittman said. “I was like, dude, there’s like — just being around everybody and something could happen — the drones, that kid that you know they stopped, like … Again, I wasn’t knowing what to expect and then ’til after the fight because again, we couldn’t take it in, it was a beautiful thing, and Justin —”

“I was like, f*ck it, if I get taken out in the middle of the cage, how f*cking legendary’d that be?” Gaethje chimed in.

Rogan said then that he’d actually brought concerns to President Trump before the event, saying, “I said to Trump, ‘I hope we don’t die in a terrorist attack.’ He goes, ‘We gotta go somehow.’ I go, ‘What the f*ck, dude?’”

Gaethje said he was right there with Trump, adding, “Everyone will remember it for the rest of eternity!”

“I’ll pass,” Wittman interjected as Gaethje declared, “Sign me up!”

“It’s better the way it went,” Rogan replied. “The way it went was way better, it was a way better outcome.”
