Our old friend “Joe Bidenopoulos” has returned.
Who is this Greek American? Well, according to a legend as told by President Joe Biden himself, the Greek community of Wilmington, Delaware, overwhelmingly supported his first bid to the Senate half a century ago and gave him the nickname as an honorary title.
“The nickname I got early on when I won by 3,200 votes in — for the Senate seat when I was 29 years old is because — started calling me ‘Joe Bidenopoulos,'” the president said on Wednesday during the White House’s Greek Independence Day celebration. “Oh, you think I’m kidding. I’m not — I’m not joking. Am I? I’m not joking. Because of the overwhelming support from the Greek American community.”

Now, a couple of things here that stick out with Biden’s latest remarks.
First, readers of The Daily Wire know that anytime Biden says, “You think I’m kidding?” or “Not a joke,” then the president is usually not being square with his audience.
The second thing is that one might be tempted to chalk this anecdote up to Biden’s old age, yet history tells a different story.
Way back in 2012, several facelifts and a few brain cells ago, Biden made the exact same joke to a group of patrons at a Greek diner in Ohio while on the campaign trail.
“Hi, I’m Joe Bidenopoulos,” he said to laughs while encouraging his audience to, “Ask George,” who would tell them that Biden is “the most Greek Irishman he’s ever known.”

Similar to every other weird ethnic joke, he’s made similar claims on numerous occasions, so this one can’t be blamed on senility. It’s just Joe being Joe — which is to say he’s always been a blowhard.
