<p>Rowling, a self-described liberal and advocate for women, has routinely angered radical trans activists by insisting that men cannot become women and that women deserve to have their sex-based rights and single-sex spaces protected from the men who argue otherwise.</p>
<p>The &#8220;Harry Potter&#8221; creator has also railed against the notion of compelled speech — specifically when it&#8217;s applied to the transgender issue and people publicly pressured or even directed by law to say that a man is a woman if he claims to be so.</p>
<p>Rowling addressed that topic in a post from one day prior, saying that she did not believe anyone actually thought men could be women — only that some were willing to say something they knew not to be true for political reasons.</p>

<p>Republican strategist Brad Todd laid out in detail the errors made during the 2020 census that disproportionately hurt Republicans — and helped Democrats.</p>
<p>Todd joined CNN anchor Kate Bolduan on &#8220;CNN News Central&#8221; to discuss the issue on Thursday, and he argued that a number of the U.S. Census Bureau population miscounts had dramatically skewed in favor of Democrats in multiple states across the country.</p>

<p>&#8220;In fact, we know the 2020 census — the errors were almost always to the detriment of red states,” Todd began, prompting an almost immediate interruption from Bolduan.</p>
<p>&#8220;Do we know that?&#8221; she asked.</p>
<p>&#8220;We do know that. The Census Bureau’s own audit of its work has proven that,&#8221; Todd shot back. &#8220;Blue states like Rhode Island were overcounted. Rhode Island then didn’t lose a seat. Red states like Alabama were undercounted. This is just a fact. It wasn’t all red-blue, but it was disproportionately red-blue.&#8221;</p>
<p>The U.S. Census Bureau’s 2020 Post-Enumeration Survey found that of the 14 states that were miscounted, five out of the six undercounted states were red states, and five of the eight over-counted states were blue states, per <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2022/05/19/census-bureau-2020-undercount-overcount-miscount-electoral-college/">The Daily Caller</a> in 2022. Delaware, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Utah were reportedly among those that were overcounted. The undercounted states included Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas.</p>
<p>Todd&#8217;s comments come on the heels of President Donald Trump&#8217;s call for a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-says-illegal-immigrants-will-not-be-counted-in-the-next-census">new census</a> that will not include illegal immigrants in the final counts. Trump faced a number of legal challenges when he attempted to take similar changes to the census process during his first term as president, but has signaled he plans to try again in the near future.</p>

<p>Former Democratic strategist Dan Turrentine voiced his concerns Wednesday over two major problems facing his party — and he worries that the party is not doing enough to address either one.</p>
<p>Turrentine spoke with Fox News host Sean Hannity on his eponymous show, revealing the extent to which he believes Democrats are struggling in the lead up to the 2026 midterm elections. &#8220;It’s horrifying,&#8221; he said, arguing that Democrats thus far have appeared to be either unable or unwilling to do what was necessary to right the ship.</p>

<p>&#8220;Unfortunately for people like myself and folks that are focused on trying to win races and rebuild our majority, it’s horrifying that the party just will not come to grips with the depth of its problems and do the things to get out of it. And you said it earlier. There’s two big problems,&#8221; Turrentine said.</p>
<p>Turrentine went on to outline the two problems as he saw them. The first, a lack of clear and effective leadership, was on full display during a recent interview between former Vice President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/theres-generally-a-leader-colbert-presses-kamala-to-name-dem-top-dog">Kamala Harris</a> and soon-to-be ousted comedian Stephen Colbert. Harris, even when asked directly, either could not or would not say who was leading the  Democratic Party.</p>
<p>The second problem he identified was a failure among Democrats to put forth an agenda that would actually work to make people&#8217;s lives better.</p>
<p>&#8220;The first is our leadership, such as it is, is terrified of being canceled. If they come out and say it’s great that the border has been secured, they’ll be attacked. If they say boys shouldn’t be playing girl sports [sic] as Gavin Newsom and  Rahm Emanuel did recently, they were attacked. If they come out and say it’s great that the police keep our neighborhood safe and that they’re heroic in their efforts, they’ll be attacked,&#8221; Turrentine explained.</p>
<p>&#8220;And the second part is we continue to have no agenda to help the real lives of real people. It’s Trump Derangement Syndrome, and this academic stuff about authoritativeness. Until we come to grips and start doing this work, we’re going to remain in a ditch,&#8221; he concluded.</p>

Former Dem Strategist Says His Party Has Two Major Problems — And Is Fixing Neither

<p>An Obama-appointed federal judge has put a stop to all new construction at the Florida prison, known as Alligator Alcatraz, that is currently being used to house illegal immigrants.</p>
<p>U.S. District Judge Kathleen Mary Williams granted a temporary restraining order — requested by Environmental groups and the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida — which will halt all new construction for 14 days pending additional hearings on the potential environmental impact of the project. According to the court filings, the request was made because the construction had begun without first conducting the federally required environmental impact studies.</p>

<p>The land surrounding the prison is home to a number of &#8220;sensitive&#8221; wildlife species, including the endangered Florida panther, and according to the request, is also considered sacred by the Miccosukee Tribe.</p>
<p>&#8220;We welcome the court&#8217;s decision to pause construction on this deeply concerning project. The detention facility threatens land that is not only environmentally sensitive but sacred to our people. While this order is temporary, it is an important step in asserting our rights and protecting our homeland. The Miccosukee Tribe will continue to stand for our culture, our sovereignty, and the Everglades,&#8221; Miccosukee Chairman Talbert Cypress said of the judge&#8217;s ruling.</p>
<p>Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier&#8217;s office also released a statement reacting to the judge&#8217;s decision, saying, &#8220;Judge Williams&#8217; order is wrong, and we will fight it. However, it does not shut down Alligator Alcatraz, which will continue to send illegal aliens back to where they came from.&#8221;</p>
<p>Attorneys for the state of Florida argue that the facility was built and maintained by the state and is not subject to regulations stemming from the National Environmental Policy Act — and therefore should not be required to complete the aforementioned environmental impact studies, though the facility is currently being funded by the federal government.</p>
<p>The ruling, as Uthmeier&#8217;s office noted, only applies to new construction at the prison. The facility can still remain operational, and federal immigration authorities and the state of Florida can still use it to house detainees, but any new additions fall under the restraining order.</p>

<p>New Daily Wire host Isabel Brown said on Thursday that when hatred comes for her, it only confirms that she has chosen the right path and is doing the right thing.</p>
<p>Brown explained her position during an event hosted by Young America&#8217;s Foundation, saying that she drew inspiration from the New Testament — where followers of Jesus Christ were warned that they would be hated for following Him and for speaking the Truth.</p>

<p>Former Acting Director Brian Driscoll is one of three FBI officials being let go as of Friday. No official reasons have been given for the firings, though a number of sources have tied them to the roles those officials played during the January 6th investigations.</p>
<p>MSNBC&#8217;s Ken Dilanian cited an anonymous &#8220;source directly familiar&#8221; and claimed that Driscoll&#8217;s ouster was directly related to his <a href="https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2025/feb/2/brian-driscoll-acting-fbi-director-thin-ice-refusi/">refusal to carry out an order</a> from then Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove, who instructed him to compile a list of all agents — current and former — who had ever been assigned to cases related to January 6th.</p>

<p>The other two officials who were let go were Walter Giardina — who played a role in the investigation of former Trump trade official Peter Navarro — and Steve Jensen, who served as Acting Director of the Washington Field Office and was directly involved in the January 6th investigations.</p>
<p>Critics from legacy media — and many on social media — are accusing the FBI of conducting a &#8220;purge,&#8221; while others are pointing out the fact that the FBI Director can make personnel decisions as he sees fit — and if Driscoll did, in fact, ignore a lawful order, that could have played into the decision.</p>
