In video that surfaced on social media, the “Interstellar” star’s name was called at the SAG Awards, and in her hot pink floor-length ball gown, she attempted to ascend the staircase leading to the stage.

However, the very long dress appeared to have gotten in her way and she stumbled, falling forward before catching herself with her hands on the stairs. She stood up and smiled before taking the stage.

After taking home the award, Chastain told People magazine she was “a little embarrassed” by the stumble on the stairs.

“I’m a little embarrassed I tripped on the stairs — but I had two very handsome men helping me up [one of whom was Paul Mescal]— so that wasn’t so bad,” the actress shared. “I’m just so over the moon and happy and I can’t believe it.”

“I am the one who never expects this is going to happen,” Chastain shared with Entertainment Tonight. “Yeah, I fell on the stairs, that’s good because some people didn’t know that I did.”

“I was trapped in my dress and I had very nice men helping me, so that was a plus,” she added.

The 29th SAG Awards ceremony was held at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, California.
