Daily Wire co-founder Jeremy Boreing quickly refuted claims floated by social media users and media outlets that the new Daily Wire company Bentkey‘s kids show “Chip Chilla” was the company’s attempt at a “conservative ‘Bluey.’”

“What a silly notion. They suggest that in producing Chip Chilla, we were trying to make a conservative Bluey,” Boreing posted on X. “But there is already a conservative Bluey: Bluey!”

“Chip Chilla,” one of Bentkey’s most popular shows, focuses on the home life of three siblings, their dad Chum Chum (voiced by Rob Schneider), and their mom Chinny (voiced by Laura Osnes). The show debuted along with the launch of The Daily Wire’s new kids entertainment company Bentkey on Monday, quickly receiving rave reviews from parents desperate for non-woke quality content for their children.

“Bluey,” an Australian-made kids show based on a family of cattle dogs, has gained popularity since it debuted in October 2018. “Bluey” is especially loved by many parents because of its focus on kid-friendly topics and the absence of leftist ideology, such as radical gender or race theory, from its episodes.

Boreing praised the creators of “Bluey,” saying it’s a “beautiful” show but added that while parents can trust the show, they still can’t trust Disney+, the platform “Bluey” streams on in the U.S.

“Bluey is a terrific show that any parent would be happy to let their children watch – if only it appeared on a platform they could trust with their children,” the Daily Wire co-found said. “If anything, Bentkey aspires to make shows as beautiful as Bluey.”

After watching the show, a reviewer for The Guardian asked, “Is new kids’ show Chip Chilla a ‘blatant Bluey knock-off’ for conservatives?” The writer then lamented that “Chip Chilla” “embod[ies] more traditional roles,” such as the mother focusing on “a lot of the feeding, nurturing and affection-giving” while the “distinctly alpha” father “leads the charge.”

Boreing slammed the accusations against the Bentkey show reported in a Daily Mail article and floated by The Guardian that accused “Chip Chilla” of being “a direct rip-off of Bluey.”

“Every other part of this article is garbage. Chip Chilla is wonderfully written, is utterly enjoyable, and is, of course, almost completely distinct from Bluey,” Boreing wrote. “In fact, the only real similarity between the two shows is that both feature loving and engaged nuclear families with great values who actually enjoy being together.”

“What a shame to live in a time where that is so rare in children’s entertainment as to invite this silly comparison,” Boreing continued. “But then, that’s why we had to create Bentkey in the first place.”
