<p>Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) battled CNN host Jake Tapper on Sunday during a lengthy interview just days ahead of the presidential election.</p>
<p>The vice presidential nominee remain composed while Tapper repeatedly got heated throughout the interview on the network&#8217;s &#8220;State of the Union&#8221; show.</p>
<p>During one exchange, Tapper got heated while bringing up former Trump officials who are not backing Trump in the 2024 election, including one who now works on ABC News&#8217; &#8220;The View.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Do you know one reason why Kamala Harris doesn&#8217;t have as many people criticizing her, is because she doesn&#8217;t fire people who fail,&#8221; Vance said. &#8220;That&#8217;s why we haven&#8217;t had a real audit of the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal is because Kamala Harris protects failures in government.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Donald Trump fires them,&#8221; he added. &#8220;And I would much rather have the president who fires people who screw up.&#8221;</p>

<p>Vance grilled Tapper on some of the hoaxes that CNN has promoted against Trump, including the Russia collusion hoax that it promoted for years.</p>
<p>&#8220;Ask yourself a basic question about network integrity,&#8221; Vance said. &#8220;You guys talked about the Russia hoax nonstop.&#8221;</p>
<p>Tapper responded: &#8220;The FBI was investigating it. The FBI was investigating it. So, we covered them.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;And so you took the words of unnamed FBI agents and put them on your network as if they were the gospel truth,&#8221; Vance responded. &#8220;You did it again and again.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;A viewer of your network would&#8217;ve believed that Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin conspired in 2016,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;Now that was totally and preposterously false.&#8221;</p>
