Illinois Democrat Gov. JB Pritzker joked Friday that he couldn’t walk the Victoria’s Secret runway because he “had to hold it down in Illinois.”
In the video, Pritzker and content creator Kamaryn Johnson walk down a sidewalk before turning toward the camera, pretending they’re on a runway. Social media users sent their praises. “Immaculate. Next time let him hold your purse,” said one user. “The duo I didn’t know I needed,” said another.
It is not the first time Pritzker has tried modeling on social media. In August, Pritzker was mocked for a video in which he posed for the camera with a series of model expressions. The caption read, “when you’re in an aura-farming contest and your opponent is JB.” Aura-farming is slang for trying to look cool or charismatic.
The video was ruthlessly mocked. The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh said, “Pritzker is kind of a medical marvel. He looks gaunt and frail from Ozempic and also still morbidly obese at the exact same time. He’s taking the concept of ‘skinny fat’ to places never thought possible.”
White House deputy assistant to the president Kaelan Dorr posted, “Only thing bigger than the ratio this tweet is getting is…well.”
“Might be the cringiest thing he’s ever posted, and that is saying a lot,” RealClearPolitics president Tom Bevan wrote.
Pritzker has also embraced the phrase “governor-maxing” on social media.
In September, Pritzker opened up about his 80-pound weight loss and attributed it to starting a GLP-1 regimen.
“I’ve been driven my whole life to lose weight,” Pritzker said in the CBS interview. “The fact that I am now able to do it because this GLP-1 became available is truly like, I mean, it’s something that has meant a lot to me.”
Asked about a potential 2028 presidential run, Pritzker declined to comment.
“I have not made any decisions about what I might do in the future,” he said. “I can tell you, I want to be the governor of the state of Illinois for a while longer.”
