Country star Jason Aldean has been dropped by his public relations firm following the backlash against his wife Brittany Aldean’s social media post about transgenderism, despite her stating later that her comments were “taken out of context.”

The public relations firm that has represented the 45-year-old country singer for the last 17 years announced in a statement to Billboard magazine that they were no longer the “best people” for the job.

“Music has always been and remains The GreenRoom’s core focus, so we had to make the difficult decision after 17 years to step away from representing Jason [Aldean],” Tyne Parrish, co-owner of Nashville-based The GreenRoom shared.

“We aren’t the best people for the gig anymore, but will always be big fans of his music — he is one of the greatest live entertainers in country music,” he added.

It comes after the “Big Green Tractor” hitmaker’s wife shared a reel on Instagram in which she thanked her parents for not changing her gender during her “tomboy phase” in promotion of her new clothing line, “Don’t Tread On Our Kids.”

“I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase,” Aldean’s post read. “I love this girly life.”

Jason then stepped in and reacted to his wife’s post, “Lmao!! I’m glad they didn’t too, cause you and I wouldn’t have worked out.”

Brittany came under attack by several stars, including fellow country singer Maren Morris who suggested that the singer’s wife keep her mouth shut.

“It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human?” Maren tweeted. “Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie.”

Brittany released a longer statement explaining, “Advocating for the genital mutilation of children under the disguise of love and calling it ‘gender affirming care’ is one of the worst evils,” as The Daily Wire previously reported.

“I will always support my children and do what I can to protect their innocence,” she added. “Some parents want to be accepted by society so badly, that they’re willing to make life-altering decisions for their children who aren’t old enough to fully comprehend the consequences of those actions.”

“Love is protecting your child until they are mature enough as an adult to make their own life decisions,” Aldean continued. “Thankful my parents allowed me to go through my tomboy phase without changing my gender. Until then, leave children alone!”

She posted a message on social media later that her words were “taken out of context.”

As of this publication, there has been no public statement from the country singer about being dropped by his publicity firm.
