Jane Fonda Honors Colin Kaepernick At ACLU Dinner: ‘You Are Woke’

Colin Kaepernick might not have a future ahead of him in football, but he does have a lucrative career ahead of him as some kind of SJW icon, where he will be paid six figures to give ill-informed lectures on college campuses and serve as the master of ceremonies at self-congratulatory leftist awards events.

On top of winning GQ’s “Citizen of the Year Award” and Sports Illustrated’s “Muhammad Ali Legacy Award,” Kaepernick has been awarded the “courageous advocate” award at the ACLU of Southern California’s annual Bill of Rights Dinner at the Beverly Wilshire.

The quarterback-turned-SJW made a surprise appearance at the ceremony on Sunday night and received an honorary shout out from none other than actress Jane Fonda while she accepted the liberty, justice and equality award.

“Colin, you are woke!” Fonda told Kaepernick from the stage.

Fonda profiled her long history with the ACLU, which goes all the way back to the ’70s, which was shortly after she committed treason in Vietnam by fraternizing with the the enemy and posing alongside weapons designed to kill Americans. Somehow, she never faced prosecution.

“The ACLU has been there with me every step of the way, of course so was the FBI,” said Fonda. “But actually, I’m grateful to the FBI because when I was writing my memoirs, I forgot a lot of stuff, so all I had to do was go through 22,000 pages [of my file] — and I never broke the law.”

Most recently, Fonda admitted to having known about the sexual misconduct allegations against movie mogul Harvey Weinstein and felt “ashamed” for not having done enough. The celebrities in attendance failed to notice the irony of honoring Fonda as they glad-handed themselves over their handling of sexual harassment.

One such celebrity was producer Judd Apatow, who boasted of just how “proud” his is of the way he has “attempted to behave in this industry.”

“I think a lot of people treat the people I work with very well, but it’s important that everyone tunes into what we should do to respect each other, to protect each other,” he said.

On Monday, it was announced that Kaepernick made the list of finalists for TIME “Person of the Year.”
