<p>Former President Donald Trump’s new <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jd-vance" target="_blank" rel="noopener">running mate</a> and United States Senator from Ohio has been celebrated as “one of the best” Republicans on immigration, a key issue in the run-up to the November election.</p>
<p>Activists and organizations that seek to secure the southern border and craft immigration policies that benefit the United States celebrated Trump’s decision to name J.D. Vance as his running mate, pointing to his strong record on the critical issue.</p>
<p>“Trump picks [J.D. Vance] for Vice President, one of THE BEST lawmakers on the immigration issue. The largest deportation effort in American history is going to have one hell of a co-pilot!” the <a href="https://www.immigrationcenterforenforcement.org/who-we-are/">National Immigration Center for Enforcement</a> said in a <a href="https://x.com/NICEnforcement/status/1812930825371197836">post</a> on X.</p>
<p>&#8220;President Trump was first elected to secure our border and enforce our immigration laws after decades of neglect in Washington — and he delivered on his promises,&#8221; the organization’s president, RJ Hauman, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/immigration-hawks-delighted-trump-pick-jd-vance-one-hell-co-pilot?intcmp=tw_fnc">said</a>. &#8220;By choosing a fierce immigration reformer like Senator Vance as his running mate, President Trump has reaffirmed to the American people that our borders must be secured and immigration laws aggressively enforced.&#8221;</p>
<p>Trump’s decision to select Vance as his running mate was also celebrated by Ryan Walker, the Vice President at Heritage Action.</p>
<p>&#8220;With a 93% on the Heritage Action scorecard, Senator JD Vance has proven to be a committed conservative fighter in the Senate,” Walker noted. “He wants to secure the border, enforce the rule of law, and protect American workers.”</p>
<p>Vance also has an <a href="https://grades.numbersusa.com/gradecard/20840/118/">“A” grade from NumbersUSA</a>, an organization that advocates for an end to chain migration, mandatory E-Verify for employers, and an end to birthright citizenship.</p>

<p>&#8220;Senator Vance understands that immigration policy must no longer be determined by special interests in Washington, D.C., or big business seeking cheap labor at the expense of American workers, but instead designed in the interest of the American people at large,” NumbersUSA CEO James Massa <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/immigration-hawks-delighted-trump-pick-jd-vance-one-hell-co-pilot?intcmp=tw_fnc">noted</a>.</p>
<p>The United States Senator from Ohio is also a co-sponsor of a bill, called the “Reshape Alternatives to Detention (ATD) Act,” that could enable Trump to fulfill his promise of enacting “the largest domestic deportation operation in American history.”</p>
<p>Immigration has become one of the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/voters-say-immigration-is-top-issue-facing-country-biden-faces-widespread-disapproval-on-immigration">most important issues</a> for voters heading into the 2024 presidential election, where Trump and Vance will face off against incumbent President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.</p>
<p>More than <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/2455010/illegal-border-crossers-total-over-10-million-since-biden-inauguration/">10 million</a> people have unlawfully crossed the border during the Biden administration, with an estimated <a href="https://cis.org/Arthur/Blockbuster-House-Report-Reveals-How-Badly-Bidens-Broken-Our-Immigration-System">1.7 million illegal immigrant gotaways recorded</a> since President Joe Biden was inaugurated in 2021. There were 415,000 total reported gotaways for 2018, 2019, and 2020 under the Trump administration.</p>
<p>One poll found that only <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/voters-say-immigration-is-top-issue-facing-country-biden-faces-widespread-disapproval-on-immigration">36% of voters</a> approve of Biden’s performance on immigration, while <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/majority-of-americans-support-building-border-wall-increasing-deportations-penalizing-businesses-that-hire-illegal-immigrants">another</a> found that a majority of Americans support increasing deportations, building a wall on the southern border, and penalizing businesses that hire illegal immigrants.</p>
